Once I built an ivory tower, to worship from above. When I climb down to be set free...

...She took me in again.

= "Hard Sun" by Edie Vedder (singer for Pearl jam, who wrote the soundtrack to Into the Wild, a movie I recommend to EVERYONE)

When I walk beside her
I am the better man
When I look to leave her
I always stagger back again

Once I built an ivory tower
So I could worship from above
When I climb down to be set free
She took me in again

[CHORUS]
There's a big
A big hard sun
Beating on the big people
In the big hard world

When she comes to greet me
She is mercy at my feet
I see her inner charm
She just throws it back at me

Once I dug an early grave
To find a better land
She just smiled and laughed at me
And took her rules back again

[CHORUS]

When I go to cross that river
She is comfort by my side
When I try to understand
She just opens up her hands

[CHORUS]

Once I stood to lose her
And I saw what I had done
Bowed down and threw away the hours
Of her garden and her sun

So I tried to want her
I turned to see her weep
40 days and 40 nights
And it's still coming down on me

[CHORUS]

It's like...poetry. I love it:)
Anyways...it's been weeeeeks since the last time I just posted to post.

I was watching a stupid chick flicky show, and they said something like "you like this band, right?" and the other person was like "up until so and so album" and they were like "why?" and the person was like "because I didn't remember the day" "what?" "I picked up that cd, and remember the day, the way it smelled, because that was the day I fell in love" "with so and so band?" "No, with music"

And I was just trying to think about that day for me...

It was winter time, I remember because it was snowing (everything great has happened to me while it was snowing).
8th grade, mom picked me up from bball practice where I had been listening to "Juke Box Hero" in my head while doing laps, and thinking "this is awesome". Then, she had to run an errand and go inside brooks for a minute to pick up a prescription, but I stayed in the car.
She turned the car on with her automatic car starter, and I had the heat going for like...10mins, when it shut of (but the radio was still on, because no doors had been opened)
I remember, I was freeeeezing my ass off because my mom talks with everyone, so she was inside for like...half an hour after the heat went off.
But then, on the radio, "I still haven't found what I’m looking for" came on...and I got chills on top of my goose bumps.
And I was totally at peace...which was strange, because 8th grade was a hectic year for me.
Then, in quick succession after "I still haven't found what I’m looking for", 'I want you to want me" and "Happy Together" played, and the chills kept building.
And then...I got hit with "Across the Universe" and it was all over for me. I just...fell

It was so funny, because it made me forget how cold I was, how friekin' stressed I was (that was a big year for me in many ways, if you catch my *ehem* rainbow drift), and just...left me feeling at peace.
Up until then Music had been big in my life, but it was then that I really became an Audiophile (and was forever in debt to itunes, haha).

Allison, I deff need to get "Rebirth" back from you soon:) How'd you like it? (be honest...puuuurdy please). Let's get coffee sometime soon and talk over it (anyone else can come to, obviously, hehe) because you can drive to meet now! Yay you and your skills that enabled you to pass the maine driving test quickly (I hear that test is a bitch, so *highfive*)

So i'm pretty much a slacker and haven't started any of my summer homework, haha. Not good, I know. But hey, I spent all of July chillin' with my cousin Bruce, so that was cool. Spending this week basically emerging myself into my studies anyways. I have motivation now, thanks to inspirational-ish movies/music/books.

Speaking of which, Iz has on her summer list to all read a book together, or something like that. And "Breaking Dawn" doesn't count, so I have some suggestions.

"The Sparrow"Mary Doria Russel
"The Call of the Wild" Jack London (my favorite book, if I had to pick one)
"The Hero and the Crown" Robin McKinley (my second favorite)
"Ender's Game"Orson Scott Card
"The Shadow of the Wind" Carlos Zafon (you know those moments in life, where it's like "before" and "after so and so" well, this book marked one of those times. There was a "before TSotW" and a judging of after on almost every book. Such a phenomenal novel)
"Anna Karenina (sp?)" Leo Tolstoy
"Lovely Bones" Alice Sebold (horribly depressing)

That's all i'll suggest because I think you've all read my other top favorites.

I went out for Chinese food the other day, and my fortune cookie said "Whatever makes you deliriously happy, chase it down with a stick" which got me to thinking what made me deliriously happy. Other than, obviously, music...I came up with a list;
1.) laughing until I cry,
2.) writing and feeling accomplished,
3.) making someone happy,
4.) the beginning of a phenomenal book (I hate the ending of a good book...),
5.) driving in my car all alone with the music blaring singing at the top of my lungs,
6.) you guys,
7.) history (geeky, I know, but I love knowing how things came to be),
8.) drinking coffee really early in the morning and watching the sun rise,
9.) a really good workout,
10.) an interesting conversation with someone i've just met,
11.) no awkward silences in a conversation,
12.) playing capture the flag on my street at midnight during the summer,
13.) dancing in the rain,
14.) the first snow,
15.) christmas (the entire season),
16.) being scared shitless,
17.) my parents approval,
18.) bonfires,
19.) hugs (I know, shocker now:-P),
20.) watching really sappy movies that make me cry and feel all inspired,
21.) playing basketball (street style, just me and some local kids for the fun of the game),
22.) feeling pretty,
23.) learning,
24.) having a cause,
25.) watching TV with my sis (God, am I going to miss her),
26.) and being at peace with myself and accepting myself for a little while before the world sweeps me back up.

Anyways, list what makes you deliriously happy. I'm curious to know what you'll be chasing down with a stick:)

Sorry, long time since I posted, might as well hit you all up with some heavy stuff. Damn, that was a long post...

Anyways, love ya'll. *superflying tackle hug*
