So, I had a bit of an artistic explosion today.
Actually it started yesterday, and was (of course) inspired by a beautiful piece of writing.
Someone did a fic search for it, and I was like "hey, that sounds pretty cool, maybe i'll check it out" and I did! Features a ChildProdigy!Harry who is (among other things) an amazing violinist attending an arts boarding school. Pianist!Draco comes to the school and awww, they become friends (oh, did I mention it's an AU so there's no magic involved). Well anyway, I know all my non-HP lovin' friends are getting bored, so I'll skip to the part I actually wanted to tell.
I really really loved it because it talked a LOT about the passion inherent in music and its application to be a good musician. It actually made me get out my violin for the first time in...months, and (because I didn't have any rosin & therefore couldn't play like I wanted) I ...snuggled with it *blushesprofusely*. I didn't really mean to, it just sorta happened!
ANYway (lol), there was also a little bit in it about poetry, which also made me want to get out my poetry book that I kept upon the request of my most beloved professor. So after my mother effectively crushed my incandescently happy mood from reading lovely things about music I decided that's what I would do. I gathered up all the books I needed aka. my "comfort reading" books/books I'm working on finishing (Good Omens, Brave New World, A Clockwork Orange, my poetry book, and my writing notebook) and trucked myself over to Barnes & Noble. Haha! Take that, MOTHER. (I'm such a rebel, I know)
So I spent my night reading happy things, drinking Remus-tea, eating cheesecake, giggling over poems about impotent shepard boys, and sighing (quite girlishly...eww) over sweet and deep ones. And then my happy mood was back (plus I got a squishy chair, bwahaha!...hey, do you know how hard it is to get one of those things on a weekend night?...well, I hate you, shut up)
Okay, yeah...that's it. Lol, wow, I'm a nerd.
"And down his mouth comes to my mouth! and down
His bright dark eyes come over me, like a hood
Upon my mind! his lips meet mine, and a flood
Of sweet fire sweeps across me, so I drown
Against him, die, and find death good."
