Ian hums in appreciative acknowledgement and tilts his head, still sizing up the sword play and the young man performing it. "And how does young Orlando fuck?"

Elijah draws a deep breath. "Like a dream," he sighs.

*g*. I was pulled into your story and its world right away. Your Ian is such a rich character and I loved his conversation with Elijah. Very interesting, very enjoyable story.

Thank you for these wonderful words. This is my first real chance to write Ian, and I'm glad he was able to come to life for you. There are some older fics in the fandom with Ian and Elijah which have always been among my favorites, so I had to give them a moment together in this story.

And thank you for being such a tremendous remix mod. I left a little present for you here. ♥

Oh, thank you, but I'm afraid I can't see your entry because it's flocked :).

there is so much atmosphere and richness in this piece. i too love the lines that feelforfaith quoted above; both ian's question and elijah's response reached out and grabbed me.

Ian is left feeling profoundly alone with his maker and profoundly human

"It says there is a fellowship, a communion, that the isolation has passed"

beautiful. a delicious write of a delicious pairing! *applauds*

You were the absolute best person I could have had to bounce things off of during our first remix! We must do this again. *Mwah* right on back!!

you should be so very proud of this beautiful piece. i told you so, i told you so, i told you so! ;) (i know that's usually rude, but in this case, i think, not - lol). it was wonderful to be able to talk things over together, from my perspective as well. we are soooo going to play again next year. :)

Gorgeous.

Few things have ever been so well-suited to the phrase, "like a breath of fresh air."

I would put a respectable amount of money on this being kilties' story, but there are some authors I don't know this year so I could be wrong.

Two pleasures for the price of one. First, receiving these kind words from you and secondly, that you would even think of the incomparable kiltie after reading this. Thank you!

This is glorious. So rich in characterisation and description. I want there to be a 'Bagnio Indio.' Today, of course, it's hedonistic history is forgotten. It's simply an ivy covered ruin somewhere in the depths of the West Country (known only to botanists, who come to marvel at the only known examples of the banyan and peepal tree outside the Indian sub-continent).

You've gathered up the many things I love about Victorian England and presented it with a cast of characters so equally seduced by it that I can't help but feel you either know me very well or are just really bloody perceptive. And then you go and add a deliciously saucy Elijah. He is wonderful! Oh, to have such dreams. And Ian is just as he should be. I love him wanting Orlando, but wanting him whole and well. I suspect the sex was amazing.

A very wonderful story.

Ha HA! You do know me very well! I really felt like this was written just for me. :) And as it was you, the sex would have been amazing. And still could be. *nudge nudge wink wink* :D Thank you so much. I cannot spot grinning, you sly thing you! XXOO

Hee hee hee! Drawing YOU in the remix was a dream come true, because I love the India series so much, and you had an Ian lying in wait for me to play with. He's nowhere near as tentacled as the Ian in India, but in The Peepal Tree, you gave me an opportunity to put him in a one-on-one with Orlando, and these two are always a lovely pairing. And alas, your synopsis of the 21 century Bagnio is so bittersweet (but unfortunately true).

It would be simply remiss not to mention AQ's The Crystal Gem again, the root from which all of this has grown. She gave you a sandbox that I got a chance to dig in.

Thank you for posting this - a remix of a fic that is new to me completely. A wonderful Elijah - his turn of phrase is perfect. Orlando as a showboat with a hint of fragility - yes yes yes :) And your Ian is equally wonderful - refined and gentle. Thoroughly enjoyed this, thank you for posting.

Thank you for taking the time to let me know how much you enjoyed this. I must admit, it was hard to have Elijah exit to the pitch mid-story. And I do hope you'll have a chance to delve into the India series.
