GENERAL LOTR QUESTIONS:
Which is your favorite movie: The Return of the King.. though I really love Fellowship as well. Two Towers is certainly my least favourite.
Book?: Fellowship of the Ring, without a doubt.
Favorite character and why: This is so difficult. I honestly don't have just one. I love all members of the fellowship equally except for Legolas and Gimli because they simply don't interest me. I love Aragorn for his bravery and intrigue and for not desiring power like most, Frodo for taking such an enormous task into his hands and seeing it through despite great suffering, Sam for being so incredibly loyal, Merry for being smart enough to realise he could do his part to help his friends, Pippin for his sweet naivety and humour, Boromir for being flawed and thus more easy to relate to than perhaps anybody else, and Gandalf for his strength and the sigh of relief you feel when you know he's going to save the day. I also love Arwen and Eowyn for standing up for what they believe in, albeit in very different ways.
Who do you relate to the most?: If we're judging on movies, in my experience most people who watch them dislike Frodo and don't see him as a real hero, probably because of all the weakness he exhibits in Return of the King. But every time I watch it, I feel so terribly for his suffering because I guess I know what it is like to despair and lose hope. I guess in that way I relate to Frodo, but I will say that I don't normally show my suffering as he does, I'm a lot more closed off, though perhaps, if my situation was as serious as his I would react differently. Another character I relate to for a very different reason and which relates to the polar extreme of my personality is Arwen. This is mostly because she believes in love so strongly. Ever since I can remember I've always felt love is the greatest thing in the world, and I've been in a situation where I believed and never lost hope in a love that I felt just like Arwen did. I kept loving and hoping for years, which is a long time when you get nothing in return.
What got you into the fandom?: I watched the first movie when it came out in cinemas, but I fell in love with it more when I saw it on DVD later. Then I was completely hooked with reading the books, anticipating the next movie release, and not to mention my internet life became strictly LOTR based.
If you could live anywhere in Middle-earth, where would it be?: Rivendell. I don't think there's any other place in Middle Earth I'd want to actually live in other than Rivendell. Everywhere else has some form of impending doom hanging over it (except the Shire, but I really don't think I'd fit in there) except for Rivendell which is peaceful, tranquil and simply beautiful.
What would you do with the One Ring?: Nothing. I do not desire power at all. I don't believe in it, and I definitely wouldn't want it because it just seems like too big of a responsibility. I truly believe that those who do not desire power would be the ones who would cope the best with it so if you desire it, you're probably after it for the wrong reasons.
If you could have a Ring with any power, what would it be?: I would like to be able to become invisible actually. Just so I could get around more easily though, not for any real exciting reason.
How'd you find us? Oh it was through another rating community, so sorry I don't remember which one!
