BASICS:
Name: Susannah.
Age: Fifteen.
General Location: The frigid wilds of Alaska.
Three positive adjectives describing you: Intelligent, passionate, and focused.
Three negative adjectives describing you: Obsessive, snide, and private.
Do you have a preference on race or gender? (one or the other): Not at all.

THIS OR THAT: (there's room for both in some cases)
Love or War: One would be surprised how often the twain meet, but... I'll choose love, just because it's the stronger force. (You caught me. I'm a secret idealist. Clap me in irons.)
Strength or Mercy: Mercy, to an extent. Let's not let second chances turn into third chances, hm?
Determined or Accepting: It's variable. I'd usually say determined because accepting is just too close to giving up, but there are certain things no amount of determination can overcome.
Making your own Destiny or Accepting Fate: I'll take the middle ground again and say that fate gives us a certain amount of leeway to forge our own paths, but there are unavoidable things out there, and the only way to make them pass is not to fight them/
Life or Death: Depends on the situation, I suppose. There are moments when death is definitely preferable, but on the whole, I think I'd rather be alive. This is too good of a world to miss.
Brave or Safe: Brave, because being complacent later leads to being unsafe. It's a vicious little cycle.

GENERAL LOTR QUESTIONS:
Which is your favorite movie: The Fellowship of the Ring. I actually enjoyed all the movies, but the wonder of seeing my favorite books of all time translated onto the big screen was so flipping magical that the experience will stay with me for a long time. And it's a pretty apt adaptation among book-to-movie projects.
Book?: The Return of the King. Even upon rereading, this book makes me cry so many times that it's almost embarassing- but not quite. It's hard to pick one of these books; it's kind of like being asked to pick between your children, but the last one was the most emotionally affecting and the most beautifully written, I think. So many good-byes- gah. I shiver just writing about it.
Favorite character and why: Samwise Gamgee, because he gives me hope that someone ordinary can become something completely different- a hero, even- out of nothing other than pure, boundless love. His is the most powerful story, I think.
Who do you relate to the most?: Merry Brandybuck. I tend to be the comic relief amongst my friends as I typically use humor to mask the fact that I am actually a deeply feeling person underneath. (When I do feel, I feel deeply. And such strong emotions are difficult to share.) He and I have this in common, I think.
What got you into the fandom?: The wonderful haven for fanfiction that is called
lotr_fic_recs . And to think I thought the fandom had died.
If you could live anywhere in Middle-earth, where would it be?: Rivendell. There are few creature in all of fantasy literature more entrancing than Tolkien's Elves, and I'd give anything to live among them for even a short time. (Lothlórien might be a little overwhelming for a newcomer to Middle-Earth.)
What would you do with the One Ring?: Firstly, I would be more than a little miffed at the person who gave it to me. ("Thanks heaps, Uncle Bilbo. I love you, too.") It would depend on how long I kept it- I don't think anyone could deny its power for an extended period of time. If I was tempted by it, I would probably fantasize about using it to make a Middle-Earth of this world, as weird and geeky as that sounds- to see if I couldn't bring some of the wonder and beauty of bygone days and of Tolkien's description back onto Earth. But Sauron would eventually get me anyway, so what's the point.
If you could have a Ring with any power, what would it be?: A Ring with the power to control plant life, I think. Who wouldn't want to make flowers walk or trees rise to defend you?

How'd you find us? Through the magic of Google.

Post a picture of yourself (in costume is great!), if you have one and are comfortable doing this. If not, just describe yourself:

This is me. In a tree.
