01. WAR IS THE ANSWER - FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH
As of now the end begins,I want to laugh but there's no joke.
To eat with the beast, and run with the wolves.
On the Ashes you must choke.
Fili said a little prayer to himself as they marched out of the gates of Erebor. He asked Mahal to protect his family, to watch over Bilbo. He prayed that they'd all make it out of this alive.
02. COUNTING THE BODIES LIKE SHEEP TO THE RHYTHM OF THE WAR DRUMS - A PERFECT CIRCLE
Counting bodies like sheep

He was positive that he was going to die. Fili was in so much pain. Arrows penetrated every limb, his chest ached and it hurt to breathe. Blood gurgled from his mouth and dripped down his chin. The large gash on his throat he'd received from Bolg that refused to clot wasn't a good sign.
Kili and uncle were lying somewhere near him... they had fallen only moments before. But he couldn't pinpoint where. There were so many bodies.
He rested his eyes.
Opened them. The sky was pale grey, tainted with the blood of the field.
He closed his eyes.
03. RAGNAR SAYS GOODBYE TO GYDA - TREVOR MORRIS
Fili had forced the Fundin brothers to carry him out of his own tent. They begged him, pleaded for him to save his voice, rest in bed. But he wouldn't hear of it. He didn't believe them. His uncle and brother had not perished in the battle.
When they arrived to the dark tent, Bilbo was there at his uncle's bedside, weeping openly.
The sight of his kin... broken, bruised and lifeless... shattered him.

"They're fine, Fili," Bilbo insisted. "Your braids are fine. They are straight and there's not a hair out of place, unless you keep playing with them!" The hobbit smacked Fili's hand away from his carefully plaited hair.
Fili's hand hovered over his blond locks for a moment. He grimaced. "It's not just the braids, Bilbo," he sighed. Fili turned away, facing himself in the looking glass. "It's-- This was to be uncle's robes. Thorin's day."
Bilbo clasped his hand on his friend's shoulder. "We all miss them," he said softly. "You will be a great king. Live in their honor." The hobbit paused, "I-- Fili--"
At that moment, the door to Fili's chambers opened and Balin with a few honor guards stepped through. "It's time, your Highness."
05. LITTLE LION MAN - MUMFORD & SONS

And waste it on fixing all the problems that you made in your own head
They whispered behind his back at the council meetings and as he walked down the halls.
They said he was too young.
They said he had too little experience.
They said he didn't know anything about politics.
They said he would go mad like his ancestors.
Fili sobbed onto Bilbo's shoulder as he shared his fears. The hobbit was the only one he dared speak them to.
06. LOSING SLEEP - CHARLOTTE SOMETIMES
I'm awake and I've been losing sleep
I've been fighting all my demons
I've been getting weak
Sleep alluded him. He constantly worried about his new kingdom and if his actions were the right ones. What Thorin would have done as instead. That Kili would have told him to lighten up.
Why did he survive?

There was a bounce in the King's step as he walked through the market, browsing the goods. It was finally spring. The snow had melted, trade between Erebor and their neighbors were well. He'd earned the respect from his fellow council members. The people were happy about their home and proud of their young King.
Fili was finally coming into his own. He'd be lying if a certain Bilbo Baggins didn't have something to do with it.
09. HEY SOUL SISTER - TRAIN

Bilbo's honey curls slipped through his fingers. The hobbit was peaceful as he slept. So adorable. Fili leaned over and kissed his One. One. He never thought...
The bed creaked as Bilbo shifted, yawning. Sleepily, he gazed up at the king. "Hey, why aren't you asleep? You'll be greeting the dwarves from the White Mountains early in the morning. You need need your rest."
Fili hummed. He rested on his elbow as he stared down at his hobbit. "I dunno. I've heard so much about these special breakfasts of yours, since we met. I think I might need--"
Bilbo scoffed. "Pfft. Fine. One track mind, you."
10. MARRY YOU - BRUNO MARS
It's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you.
Bilbo rolled the mithril bead between his thumb and forefinger. He gazed up at Fili quizzically. "It's beautiful. What does it mean?"
The King took the hobbit's face between his palms. "Will you become my consort?"
