Oh, this was terrific! I really love your take on those two and this special night. There were so many things to love in your story, like that climbing scene right at the beginning - "Overgrown black lizard!" *g* - and the easy friendship and camaraderie between Elladan and Haldir which so clearly is ready for the next stage. It's also great to see that for once, Elrohir is following a different path.
