This election is frustrating me.
I like everything about McCain except that he is against Abortion (wants to overturn Roe V. Wade) and that he reserves that marriage is for a man and woman.
It's just frustrating to me. I think women have the right to choose! I think it would violate the constitution to deny them that right. I mean, they may, in some cases, be idiots for having unprotected sex, but bringing a child into the world might be the worst thing for them. What is more valuable? Dropping out of school to have a baby or just... (idk how to put it lightly) just aborting it and being able to move on with their lives so they continue in school?
And I am strongly against the idea that gays cannot marry. There are so many homosexual relationships that DEFINITELY have more going for them than some people who just throw everything away and enter into awful marriages. Straight people SO OFTEN take this for granted, and gays can't even marry someone that they love. I think it's ridiculous. So what if people think the "bible bans it". Is this country officially Christian? NO IT IS NOT! Our government SHOULD NOT be ethically formed around a specific religion! Instead it needs to be formed around giving people equal rights in terms of this issue. So what if you don't like it. No one is forcing you to marry someone of the same sex.
How would you like it if you couldn't marry the person of the opposite sex that you love? You wouldn't, would you?
Seriously.
I'm not saying I would vote for Hilary or Obama because their stances on anything else turn me off. I just hope that McCain cannot possibly go through with overturning Roe V. Wade or with banning gay marriage. It just wouldn't be right if he did.
