(no subject)
Went running today - which I haven't done all week (gulp). The golf match on monday went pretty well, I shot the second lowest score on my team. Lauren: 54, me: 55, Jen: 56, and then jessie and jordan. It was pretty bad for all of us :(. But today I had my National Federation of Music Festivals competition (level difficult IV baby!). So you play two memorized pieces (one they choose for you, and one you choose yourself) and you play them in front of adjudicators (judges for piano) and parents, piano teachers, and other students who are competition in your same level.
You get points based on how well you play. A superior is the highest you can get, which is 5 pts, then excellent: 4, very good: 3, good: 2, fair: 1. After you get 15 points (three years of perfect scores, or another combo), then you receive a gold cup, which is this big trophy. And...today... I got an excellent plus, so now I have 16 pts, which entitles me to my SECOND GOLD CUP! (I got one in 7th grade too). So ya, I'm excited. I played the Maple Leaf Rag by Scott Joplin, and the Nocturne in E Flat Minor by Chopin. Sarah was also in my level and she won a gold cup too, but she won hers for her concerto, I won mine for my solo. Anyways, I have to get all pumped up for capture the flag glow tonight (basically at night with glow sticks woop woop!). Go BLUE TEAM! (we not only have interpretive dancing, but cool human catapults!)!!! Im SOOO STOKED!!! :)
