drenched in my pain again, becoming who we are.

Yeah, so I just saw the video for 'Wake Me Up When September Ends' (you just knew I was gonna get it some how before it came out in the U.S.) and so here I am, writing my review.

Okay, I watched it twice straight through. The first time, I actually laughed out loud when the girl slapped her boyfriend. I dunno why but I just thought it was funny. But, by the end of it my eyes were tearing up.

First of all, there were some negatives:

- They didn't show the band enough. I bet all together they were shown a minute tops during the whole thing.... it's 7 minutes long.

- Jason White... What to do about Jason... I love the guy, I think he helps Green Day out a lot on the road. He plays lead guitar so that Billie can entertain the crowds but... I think putting him in the video was going a little too far, giving him a little too much credit. They showed him more than Mike. That's not right. I love the kid, I really do. I respect him a lot and he's an awesome guitar player... He's just not the fourth member of Green Day. Keep the videos down to three, please.

- I think the intro was a little too long... There were about three times I expected the opening riff to come in before it actually did.

But, actually I liked the story line. It was more a story than a music video and I'm not sure whether or not that's a good thing. Honestly I was expecting a more literal video relating back to the lyrics more and being kinda about Billie's dad. I mean, that is a lot of the lyric content anyway, isn't it? Like my father's come to pass... is said a lot more than once. I always kinda thought that song was a way for Billie to talk about his dad dying, it takes a side-step away from the story line of American Idiot but it also ties in to what Jesus of Suburbia is feeling after he's lost everything (it's directly after Whatsername left town... and him.)

I was honestly crying in time with the drum beats by the time I'd watched it twice through. I think Samuel Bayer is an awesome director, I've loved every video he's done for Green Day (American Idiot, Holiday, Blv. of Broken Dreams, and now WMUWSE).

Yeah, so that's what I thought about it. And, I'm not gonna post who/where I got it from but if you want it, e-mail or aim me and I'll either give it to you or let you know where to get it. It's a bitch to download though, at least for my computer and I have a pretty fast connection so... yeah or you could just wait until it's released here. Which is the legal thing to do. lol.

Well, I'm off to download more videos and put pictures onto CDs so that they don't eat up so much of my hard drive. Maybe then illegal downloads won't take so damn long... whoops, did I really type that? My bad... XD
