Working downtown...
I've worked in downtown Detroit for 8 years now.
I find that when everyone else is coming down for an event, I just want to flee back to my suburbs.
The Red Bull AIr Race could be watched from the other side of my office, but I didn't want to deal with the crowds over the weekend. I did get video of their practice runs, though.
I can hear the Wings parade, and the helecopters, and see them head off Woodward into Hart Plaza, but I'm just dreading dealing with the crowds when I go for lunch, and the traffic when I leave.
I'm also one of only three people in a 50+ office right now. It's my work's "day of community service".
But because we had a deadline, and my boss is out of the country and I just have more I need to get done here, I'm at work.
I will be taking a long lunch, though.
