Back in February, when Children's Memorial found out they could not do the surgery then, they transferred Emily by ambulance to U of M. Back then, this took two hours to arrange.

In August and (September), Children's Memorial was able to do the surgeries (and IR procedures). Now that she is recovering and the mesocaval shunt is open, they just need to watch her for and adjust her medications levels. This post-op care could be done anywhere, so Children's Memorial said last Friday that they would set a transfer to U of M so we can be closer to home.

It is now Thursday and they are still screwing around, making excuses and generally being incompetent and not doing their jobs. The woman who was suppose to to arrange this never even looked in Emily's files and did not know what she was talking about. Emily and Sydney are still in Chicago and most the doctors are not even keeping Sydney in the loop about Emily's health, let alone the stasis of the transfer.

We keep on waiting ...
