Here it is, another Tuesday. And this is a pretty big Tuesday. For those of you who didn't know (which means you've been living under a rock...as long as your comfy), it's Election Night. And I know I needed a break from the stress. Seriously, work was tying my stomach in knots. Hopefully you all would like something to take your minds off of things for a little bit.
So how about another DJ!verse EP? This one wasn't the original idea I had planned to post tonight. But when I started writing the little ficbit, the boys didn't exactly follow the outline. So I changed EPs. I'll just post the other one later.
Also? This fulfills my
mini_nanowrimo goal for today. Whee!
Anyway, here you go,
Jensen sighed and slammed his book shut, setting it on top of the cluttered desk. He had been studying for the past couple of hours and didn't feel any more comfortable with the material than he had when he started.
The clock on the wall echoed in the quiet room. Nearly time to leave. Jensen glanced across the office and watched Jared work through the glass window. Jared moved around the DJ booth with practiced ease, gliding across the floor to press a couple of buttons and then back again, tugging the mic in front of his face. As if sensing he had an audience, Jared glanced up and caught Jensen watching him.
Jared's lips tilted up in a bright smile.
Hi, he mouthed.
Jensen grinned and gave Jared a small wave. He pushed the book further away from him and slouched down in the chair, attempting to get comfortable. He wasn't going to get any more studying done tonight.
Trying to do his homework at the station was never a good idea. He never got anything accomplished, too distracted by proximity of his boyfriend.
He watched as Jared pressed another button, his head bobbing in time to the music.
At least the station offered him a better view than the library.
Jensen stretched his arm out and hit the button on the wall, turning on the speaker.
The tail end of a commercial jingle played before Jared's voice filled the room.
"And we're back."
Jensen watched as Jared monitored the computer while he spoke. "That's it for me, guys. Mike should be here in a few minutes. As much as I'd like to stay, I have other plans. And sorry guys, but he always wins."
Jared gave Jensen a small smile before his focus returned to the job.
"Before I go, I'm going to leave you with tonight's final selection for this week's theme 'Get Your Motors Running.' Here's 'Engines' from Snow Patrol's latest album. Enjoy and until tomorrow, I'm out of here."
