Summary: It's the DJ boys first Christmas together.
Notes: So my beloved __tiana__ had a birthday recently and I wanted to write her a little something. Well, it got a bit longer than I had anticipated. I decided to go with the DJ boys from To The Beat of Our Noisy Hearts because Ti was with me every step of the way as I wrote that. Ti loves domesticity and schmoop, so that's what she got. I even managed to avoid all the angst that usually makes it into my fics. Anyway, hope you like it Ti. This one is for you.

"Well, I was able to reschedule our flight for Wednesday morning. We'll be back in plenty of time for your shift at the station."

Jensen set the phone in the cradle and glanced over at Jared who was staring blankly out the window. Jensen walked over and stood behind him, wrapping an arm around his waist. He rested his cheek against the thick wool of Jared's sweater and looked out at the endless sea of white.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Jared's voice was soft, as if he was unwilling to interrupt the peaceful calm left in the wake of the surprise winter storm.

Jensen looked at the view outside. The trees were dipped in white and he could see the mountainous peaks stretching across the sky. Jared leaned into him as their breath fogged up the glass. "I'm sorry, Jay."

Jared turned to face him, his head cocked to the side. "Why?"

Jensen shrugged. "For getting us stuck here. I know you were looking forward to spending Christmas at home."

Jared gave him a small smile and shook his head. "Not your fault man. Even you can't control the weather."

Jensen sighed. Jared was always so understanding but he couldn't help feeling guilty. He had just wanted to spend a few days away, just the two of them. When he had mentioned his uncle's cabin to Jared, he hadn't expected much. It was close to Christmas and he knew Jared would want to be with his family. But Jared had surprised him by jumping at the chance to spend time in the mountains. He'd been so excited to see snow. And they got snow. Eight inches of it, to be exact. And now, thanks to hazardous driving conditions and one cancelled flight, they were stuck in Colorado on Christmas Eve.

"Jensen, seriously, it's fine." Jared wrapped his arms around Jensen's neck and tugged him forward. "I mean, yeah it sucks that I won't be home for Christmas this year. But at least we're together. If I can't have my family, I guess you'll have to do."

Jensen buried his face in Jared's neck and pinched his side. "Jerk," he muttered into Jared's shoulder.

Jared laughed and Jensen grinned. He didn't have to look to know that Jared's eyes would be glittering with unrestrained joy. Jensen was in awe of this man who was always so determined to make the best out of every situation. Jensen himself had a pessimistic streak a mile wide. But with Jared around... "How did I get so lucky?" he asked, his voice suddenly thick with emotion.

"You're just special, I guess."

Jared pulled back and surveyed the room. Jensen could see his mind turning. "What?"

Jared bit his lower lip. "We have enough food? Firewood?"

Jensen walked over to the fireplace and glanced at the wood stacked neatly in the corner. They had enough dry logs to keep the fire roaring for at least three days. More than enough. "Yeah, we're good. It's only a couple more days. They've always been good about clearing the roads quickly around here so we shouldn't have a problem getting out after tonight."

"But what about-"

Jensen laughed and flopped down on the sofa. "Jay, relax. We're fine. We're more than fine."

Jared made a face and sat down heavily. "Yeah, I know." He huffed a sigh and fidgeted in his seat. Jensen figured that at that moment, distraction was the best course of action.

"So what do you want to do? We have plenty of time to do whatever" Jensen smirked and tossed Jared his best suggestive leer.

Jared chewed on his lip before grinning. "Let's go outside!"

It was Jensen's turn to make a face. "But it's cold out there."

"Oh come on, Jen. Just for a little while." Jared chuckled and stood up. "I promise to heat you up later."

He held out his hand for Jensen to take. Jensen growled as Jared wrapped long fingers around his wrist and tugged him forward. Jared crowed with giddy laughter as he pulled on his bulky coat and knit cap.

Jensen shrugged on his own jacket and frowned as Jared reached for the door. "Dude, put some gloves on. I don't want your icy paws all over me later."

Jared glanced over his shoulder and smirked. "Yes, mom." He darted out the door and down the steps before Jensen could respond.

Jensen rolled his eyes but smiled as Jared did as he was told. "Sometimes you're worse than my cousin," he yelled out as he closed the door. "And he's five. What's your excuse?"

The sun was out in full force, its rays bouncing off the glittering snow. Jensen squinted as he followed Jared's footsteps across the smooth surface. He had only made it a few feet from the porch when the first shock of ice cold struck him on the side of his face. Jensen came to a complete stop as the snow began to melt, chilling a path down his neck and under the collar of his jacket. He took a deep breath and turned in the direction the snowball had been fired. "You're a dead man."

"Now, Jen, you know I couldn't resist," Jared walked over to him, hands held up in a gesture of peace.

"Dead. Man." Jensen growled, glaring at Jared's smile. He was calculating just how fast he could grab some snow and shove it down Jared's back in retaliation.

Jared ignored him and drew closer. "So I was thinking-"

"Never a good thing."

"Shut up. Anyway, so I was thinking about that movie. You know the one where the kid gets his tongue stuck to the flagpole because it's icy."

Jensen tilted his head and brought a hand up to his eyes, trying to block the glare from the sun. He had no idea where Jared was going with the reference.

"And you're all icy now-"

Suddenly, it all clicked. Jensen began to back away. "That only works with metal you-" His voice dropped off as Jared tugged him close and dragged his tongue up the side of his face.

Jared pulled back, pouting. "Hmm...didn't work."

"I'm not a popsicle, dude," Jensen glared at his boyfriend.

Jared shrugged. "It was worth a try."

Jensen kicked at the ground and watched the loose snow scatter in the air. "We done here? You get your outdoor kicks yet?"

"Nope," Jared smiled wide. "We have to build a snowman first."

Jensen sighed. "Tell you what, you build a snowman, I'm gonna go inside."

Jared frowned. "You're no fun."

"I don't care," Jensen grumbled. "I'm cold and now I'm wet."

Jensen really meant for that to be the end of the conversation. That didn't explain why he was still outside two hours later, helping Jared put the head on their fourth snowman.

Jensen collapsed on the ground as Jared broke some twigs off a nearby tree for the snowmen's arms. Jared turned to Jensen and grinned as he put the final touches on their little snow family. Jensen couldn't stop from responding with a grin of his own. He was exhausted and chilled to the bone, but he had to admit he was having a good time.

Jared dropped down beside him. "Man, I'm tired."

Jensen smirked but didn't say anything. He let his gaze wander across the surrounding area. He had always loved visiting his uncle's cabin while growing up. It was a single story hideaway made of wooden logs. Inside were two bedrooms, a bathroom, a fully functional kitchen, and a large common room with a fireplace large enough to make Jared seem small. Well, smaller. The cabin was tucked away in the middle of a forest, giving the illusion of being in the middle of nowhere. The nearest town was actually only a couple of miles down the road. But the cabin offered the best of both worlds. Modern world convenience at his fingertips yet far enough away to provide the solitude he craved from time to time. Having Jared there by his side made everything seem even better.

"Thanks, Jen," Jared said, falling back to lie in the snow.

Jensen watched as the sun made its slow descent behind the mountains. He turned to Jared, noting the deep red of his cheeks from the cold. "What for?"

Jared closed his eyes and smiled, digging a hole in the snow at his side. "For today, for this weekend."

Jensen shrugged and glanced back out at the horizon. "Yeah, well, we both needed a vacation away from our crazy roommates."

Jared frowned. "My roommate is not crazy." He opened his eyes and met Jensen's disbelieving stare. He grinned. "Ok, my roommate is definitely crazy."

"At least no one can walk in on us here."

Jared snorted. "Aren't you the one with a public sex kink?"

Jensen's face heated. "That's different. And I don't actually like people walking in on us, just the...well, Chad can't walk in on us here."

"I could always move back in with the girls."

Jensen sighed. His chest felt tight at the offhand mention of last summer. He pushed off the ground and struggled to his feet, brushing the snow off his jeans, now dark and wet. "How about a long, hot shower?"

Jared stared up at him, eyes squinting against the fading sun. The air was considerably cooler than it had been only ten minutes ago and Jensen shivered, chilled to the bone. Jared reached a hand up and Jensen grabbed it, helping to pull him up off the ground. "You go ahead," Jared bit his lip and looked at the snowmen surrounding them. "I'll be there in just a minute."

Jensen stared at Jared, trying to gauge his mood. He'd gotten pretty good at reading him over the past few months. But right now, try as he might, he couldn't tell how Jared was feeling. He could tell Jared was hiding something. He just couldn't tell if it was a good something or a bad something. "Don't want to join me?"

"Raincheck?"

Jensen shrugged, trying to act casual. "Sure." He nodded toward the house. "I'm just gonna-"

"Ok," Jared replied, biting his lip, still not meeting his eyes.

Jensen sighed and climbed the stairs. He stomped his feet in an effort to loosen the snow from his boots before stepping inside. Once through the door, he shrugged off his jacket and let it fall to the floor with a wet thump. His boots were next followed by his socks and sweater. The room was warm but his skin was chilled, his body numb from the cold.

The bathroom was small but functional. The shower, though, was incredible. It took up half the room, was large enough to hold Jared, and had amazing water pressure. Jensen turned on the water to give it time to warm up while he wriggled out of his wet jeans. By the time he climbed under the spray, the water was hot, just shy of scalding. It felt like sharp pinpricks against his icy skin. Jensen groaned and let his head fall forward against the tile, water sluicing down his back.

As Jensen stood under the spray, he could hear Jared moving around in the main room. A heavy thud caught his attention. He lifted his head and leaned back, struggling to hear over the running water. "Jay?"

"M'fine," Jared's voice was muffled through the door but Jensen was calmed by hearing it. He grabbed the shampoo and rushed through the familiar motions, eager to find out what Jared was up to.

By the time Jensen climbed out of the shower, he was feeling warm and sleepy. He wrapped a towel around his waist and walked out into the hallway.

"Hey Jen, come here a second."

Jensen glanced down at the towel and frowned. "Can I get dressed first?"

"No!"

Jensen shook his head and headed down the short hall. His mouth dropped open in surprise when he saw what was waiting for him. Jared had found a small Christmas tree and set it up in the corner of the large room. He was draping the last of the colored lights across the branches. When he finished, he turned to face Jensen with a wide smile.

"What-?" Jensen started, eyes wide. "Where'd you-?"

"Do you like it?" Jared shifted his weight from one foot to the other, his eyes watching Jensen.

Jensen was speechless. The presents under the tree completed the idyllic scene before him. The room was lit up by the glittering lights and the fire roaring in the fireplace. The cabin looked cozy, homey. Comfortable.

"I love it," Jensen smiled at the scene.

"Really?" Jared still seemed a bit unsure. "You don't think your uncle will mind?"

Jensen shook his head. "Nah, he wouldn't care. Where'd you find it?"

"Back closet," Jared tilted his head toward the hallway.

"When did you find time to search the closet?" Jensen was pretty sure he had been by Jared's side the entire weekend they'd been at the cabin.

"Well, it was snowing and I couldn't go for my run," Jared shrugged his shoulders and blushed. "So I explored. Didn't want to wake you since you're a cranky ass first thing in the morning."

"I am not." Jared just looked at him with an amused half-smile plastered across his face. Jensen sighed. "Ok, maybe I am."

"I just wanted to do something for Christmas," Jared glanced over his shoulder at the tree. "For us."

"Jay, it's perfect," Jensen smiled. He may not be with his family for the holidays but he had everything he needed right there in that room. Jensen could see the light flush to Jared's cheeks, his embarrassment completely adorable. He walked over to his boyfriend and wrapped one arm around his waist, pulling him in for a hug while holding his towel with the other hand. Jared's sweater was still damp and Jensen pulled back as the cool material touched his bare skin. "Hey, why don't you go take a shower? I'm going to put some clothes on and make us some dinner."

Jared looked down at his own clothes and scrunched his nose. "I don't think I’m ever going to dry out." He pulled his sweater and t-shirt over his head in one quick movement and threw them on the pile of wet clothing by the door.

Jensen allowed himself one long moment to admire Jared's golden skin slick with moisture before he turned, heading down the hall towards the master bedroom. He could feel Jared behind him, closing the distance between them. Jared's arms wrapped around his waist, forcing him to stop. Jensen leaned back against Jared's torso, relaxing for a moment before pushing forward, using his momentum to drag Jared along behind him. "Dude, your skin is clammy and you smell like a wet dog. Take a shower."

Jared laughed and ducked into the bathroom while Jensen continued to the bedroom. Jensen listened to the water start up and toyed with the idea of joining Jared but decided that food came first. If he was hungry, Jared had to be ravenous.

Jensen quickly pulled on a dry pair of jeans and t-shirt and padded back down the hall to the kitchen. He dug through the cabinets scouring for ingredients to make a meal. His uncle always kept the cabin well stocked with non-perishables and canned goods. Jensen finally settled on a bag of pasta and a vegetable for the side dish.

He moved around the kitchen with ease, humming to himself as he worked. Cooking was always therapeutic for Jensen. He let his mind wander as he emptied the box of noodles into the pot of boiling water.

Jensen couldn't believe how lucky the year had been for him. During the holidays last year, he'd been doing everything he could just to get through each day. Life was a constant struggle. This year, everything was different. He had one last semester of school to go and he was surrounded by friends and family that loved him. Then there was Jared. Jared was the biggest surprise of all. Jensen had been completely blindsided by his crush on the charismatic DJ. But Mike had set them up in his usual devious manner and things had just clicked between them. Then he'd almost blown things before they ever had a real chance to start. But he was really lucky. Jared forgave him and now, months later, things were better than ever between them.

As Jensen drained the noodles, he hummed his own personal soundtrack. It figured that he'd get Christmas carols stuck in his head. But really, who could blame him? He couldn't go anywhere without hearing them blasting over tinny loudspeakers. At least here he could sing the ones he preferred to sing. The words tripped off his tongue as he added the alfredo sauce and turkey to the pasta. He put the pot back on the stove and turned the flame down low.

"I'll be home for the holidays, right at home by the fire," Jensen sang to himself, voice low. The cabin was quiet, too quiet. Jensen realized that there was no sound of running water from the next room.

Jensen turned and jumped when he found Jared right behind him, leaning back against the door frame.

"Don't stop on my account," Jared murmured with a small smile. His hair was damp, curling around the collar of his t-shirt, his jeans low on his hips. He pulled Jensen closer and dropped a soft kiss on his lips. "Hey."

Jensen grinned. "Hey yourself." He inhaled, the smell of the pasta mixing in with the scent of Jared's shampoo. He leaned in for another kiss before pulling back and stirring the pasta again.

Jared moved forward and pressed up against Jensen's back. He leaned down and brushed his lips along the tender skin below Jensen's ear, causing him to shiver. "Anything I can do to help?" he mumbled into Jensen's neck.

Jensen closed his eyes and focused on his breathing. With a sigh, he turned to Jared. "Grab a couple of plates and some beers from the fridge?"

Jared nodded and opened the cabinet behind him, reaching for the dishes. As Jared set them on the table, Jensen turned off the burners and brought the food over.

Dinner was filled with easy conversation and, as always with Jared, lots of laughs. Jensen watched as Jared's eyes lit up and his hands flailed about while he told another story about a Christmas long past. Jensen took a bite of his pasta and just knew that something was different between them. Something significant. By spending these few days away from everyone else, everything just clicked and fell into place.

Jensen sighed to himself. He was so gone for this guy.

He must have been staring because Jared suddenly stopped and cocked his head to the side. "You ok, Jen?"

Jensen smiled and took a drink from his beer. "Yeah, Jay, I'm good."

Jared grinned and pushed his chair back, standing up. "Great! Then what do you say we finish up here and then watch some TV? I'm sure there are a million Christmas movies playing."

"Sounds like a plan," Jensen replied, picking up the dishes and headed for the sink.

"Nuh uh," Jared stopped him, moving so that he stood between Jensen and the counter. "You cooked, I'll do the dishes."

Jensen gave him a look. "It will go faster if we both do it."

Jared sighed. "Fine. I'll wash, you dry?"

Jensen nodded. "That'll work."

Jared grabbed the plate from Jensen's hand and turned around, filling the sink with hot, soapy water. Jensen scraped the last of the food out of the serving bowls and dropped them into the water as Jared began to wash.

They worked side by side in companionable silence. Jared washed each dish before handing it over to Jensen who would then rinse and dry it before returning it to the cabinets. Every so often their hands would touch as they passed a bowl or glass between them, the contact causing heat to pool in Jensen's stomach.

Jensen let himself get lost in the repetitive motions. He wasn't paying attention when he reached for the next dish and ended up with a faceful of soapy bubbles. He turned to glare at Jared who just gave him an innocent shrug. "Oops?"

"Yeah, I bet," Jensen grumbled as he wiped his face off with the sleeve of his shirt. He felt the corners of his mouth tilt upwards against his will. He reached for the plate Jared held out for him and sprayed it with the hose, making sure to catch Jared as he did so.

Jared sputtered in surprise and Jensen just grinned. Two could play at this game. Jared tried to wipe his cheek on his shoulder without removing his hands from the water but his attempt failed, his head tilted awkwardly to the side. Jensen took pity on him and ran the dishtowel along Jared's hairline, catching the stray droplets.

Jared handed Jensen the last glass and splashed more water down the front of his shirt. Jensen growled and set the glass in the dish rack and pulled the wet material away from his skin. "What are you, twelve?"

Jared caught his gaze and immediately tried to duck but Jensen was too fast, hosing him down with a smirk. Jensen couldn't stop the laugh from escaping. Jared stood there, hair plastered to his face, dripping all over the floor. He shook his head vigorously from side to side, sending drops of water all over the kitchen. He grabbed Jensen and held onto him while he ducked his head, rubbing his wet hair against Jensen's cheek.

"You're not going to lick me again, are you?" Jensen laughed when Jared got that thoughtful expression on his face and held up his hands, backing away. "Ok, ok. Truce!"

As he backed away, Jensen found his eyes drawn to the thin material clinging to Jared's torso, defining the muscles hidden beneath. His mouth suddenly felt dry.

Jared gave him a crooked grin, as if knowing exactly what he was thinking. "Let's finish up in here and dry off."

"Sounds good," Jensen coughed, surprised by the rough note of his voice. He and Jared quickly finished cleaning up the kitchen, mopping up the puddles on the floor with paper towels and wiping off the counters with a wet rag.

Once the kitchen was finished Jared grabbed Jensen's wrist and dragged him into the living room. Jensen gave him a look. "Thought we were going to dry off."

Jared gave him a sideways look as he knelt in front of the fireplace. He added a couple of logs and watched as the flames jumped higher. "You and I go into that bedroom now and we're not leaving it tonight."

"That such a bad thing?" Jensen stared at Jared's profile, glowing amber and orange in the soft light.

"Not so much bad as it is distracting," Jared stood up and began pulling off his shirt.

"Jay, what're you doin'?"

"Shirt's wet, fire's warm...figure that's easy enough for you to figure out."

Jensen shook his head. "And that's not distracting?" He wasn't really complaining though. Not when Jared was standing shirtless in front of him, hair a mess and eyes dark. Jared cocked his eyebrow and Jensen just shrugged, pulling his own shirt over his head.

Jared smiled and flopped down on the couch, grabbing the remote and turning on the TV. Jensen tried not to gape. "Seriously? You really want to watch TV?"

Jared stared up at him, his eyes showing a hint of hurt and instantly Jensen felt like a jackass. "I always watch Christmas movies on Christmas Eve. You know, with my-"

Jensen sighed and sat down next to him. "With your family." He shifted closer to Jared. "Just find something good."

Jensen could see Jared's pleased smile out of the corner of his eye as Jared flipped through the channels, seeing what was on. He stopped on one station and made a gleeful noise. "Jackpot!"

Onscreen, young Ralphie Parker was being told 'You'll shoot your eye out' for the millionth time. Jensen just shook his head and glanced over at Jared. "Seriously, are you going to lick me again? I'd like some warning if you are."

Jared cut his eyes over towards him before focusing on the screen again. "I was thinking about it." The low register of Jared's voice made Jensen shiver.

Over the course of the movie, Jared shifted so that his head was lying in Jensen's lap. Jensen wanted to laugh and call him a girl but he just couldn't bring himself to interrupt the moment. The feeling of complete rightness surrounded him, wrapped around him and held him close. He raked his fingers through Jared's hair, a slow and gentle motion. Jared sniffed and turned inward, burying his face into Jensen's stomach.

Jensen watched Jared sleep, glancing up at the television every once in awhile. He's seen both many times before but never tires of either. He chuckled at one of his favorite parts of the movie and looked down to find Jared watching him with a sleepy smile. "What?"

Jared just shook his head, a slow roll against Jensen's thigh. "Just thinking about our first date."

"Oh yeah? Didn't you fall asleep on me back then, too?" Jensen asked the question but they both knew he remembered, that he could recall everything about that night in vivid detail.

"Yeah, I did," Jared admitted. He stared up at Jensen through half-lidded eyes. His lips pursed, as if thinking about something. "You know, I don't really sleep well around others. It took years for me to be able to sleep with Chad in the room."

"Well that's just self-preservation. I always knew you were a smart one," Jensen frowned. "But you fell asleep that first night."

Jared shrugged and pressed his face into Jensen's abdomen. Jensen shivered as Jared's warm breath ghosted across his bare skin. "Just felt right, I guess."

Jensen felt a rush of affection as Jared fell back asleep almost immediately. He waited for a few minutes before deciding it was time to move. He nudged Jared and somehow managed to get them both up off the couch. "Come on, man. Let's go to bed."

"But the movie's not over yet," Jared struggled to stay standing, half-awake and leaning heavily against Jensen.

Jensen grabbed the remote and turned off the TV just as Ralphie got a boot to the face. "Nah, it's been over for awhile now."

Jared frowned and glanced over at the silent television. "Oh." Jensen grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the bedroom. "Ok."

Getting both of them ready for bed was a chore. Jared was absolutely no help. He collapsed onto the bed as soon as they entered the room and refused to move again, no matter how hard Jensen poked him. Jensen sighed and pulled off Jared's jeans, managing to get him under the covers before finishing up his own nightly routine.

Jensen was exhausted by the time he finally slid between the sheets. He rolled onto his side and wrapped an arm around Jared's waist. He tucked one of his legs between Jared's and finally drifted off to sleep.

Jensen woke to the early morning light painting the room a light gold and Jared's mouth trailing across his face. By the time Jared reached his mouth he was awake enough to kiss back. They exchanged slow, lazy kisses, content to just lie there with one another. Jensen could feel his body respond as Jared laid half on him, Jared's thigh pressed up against his groin.

Jensen shivered as Jared scraped his teeth along the tender flesh beneath his ear and pulled back. His lips tasted faintly of mint. Jared had obviously been awake for awhile. "Mornin,'" he said with a smile, voice sleep rough.

Jared grinned down at him before pushing up and bouncing off the bed. "Mornin'. And now that you're awake, it's time to get up." Jared gave Jensen's arm a tug.

Jensen raised his eyebrows and resisted as Jared pulled, trying to get him to move. He shot a pointed look down at his lap, half covered by the sheet. "You actually want me to move now?"

Jared laughed, open and free. "God, do you ever think about anything else?"

Jensen shrugged and pulled his arm away from Jared. "You were the one who promised to heat me up if I went outside with you. I'm just waiting for you to make good on that promise."

"Whatever. You had fun."

"Totally beside the point."

Jared huffed out a breath, hands on his hips. "I'm trying to be patient here, Jen."

"So am I!" Jensen frowned. "Wait. What are you being so patient about?"

Jared gave him a look. "You do realize its Christmas, don't you? I want to open presents."

Jensen swallowed a laugh. "Man, you're worse than my sister." Jensen kicked his leg out in Jared's direction.

"Don't care." Jared shoved Jensen's foot away before it made contact. "Now get your lazy ass up or I'll make you go outside again before you get laid."

"Maybe I don't want to get laid."

"You keep telling yourself that." Jared bent over and pressed his palm against Jensen's cock, still half-hard from his wake-up call. "But this tells a different story."

Jensen hissed and glared at Jared. He swung his legs around and glared at his boyfriend. Jared just smirked and left the room, heading down the hall. Jensen shook his head in wry amusement. He had to admit that Jared's enthusiasm was contagious. He grabbed a shirt from the floor and pulled it on as he followed Jared down the hall.

The aroma of fresh brewed coffee caught Jensen's attention immediately. He turned into the kitchen and was greeted by the most gorgeous sight. Jared stood there in his boxers holding a steaming cup of coffee ready and waiting for him. Just slap a big red bow on him and it would be the best Christmas present ever. What could he say? He was a simple man with simple needs.

Jared chuckled, as if reading his thoughts. "Figured you could use this."

Jensen grabbed the cup from Jared's extended hand and inhaled. "You're a god."

"And you're easy." Jared grabbed his own coffee mug and nodded towards the living room. "Now come on, I want to see you open your presents."

Jensen took a sip of his coffee before heading into the main room where Jared was already sitting on the floor in front of the tree. He dropped down beside him, feeling the heat on his back from the fireplace behind him.

Jared pulled three gifts out from under the tree and placed them on the floor in front of Jensen, a shy smile on his face. He chewed on his lip. "Hope you like them."

The packages were small and rectangular, two of them heavier than the third. Jensen lifted one and shook it, trying to figure out what it was. When it made no sound, he tore into the wrapping paper, eager to see what was inside.

He pulled out a thick daily planner, the white pages covered by a simple black leather cover. Jensen rubbed his thumb across the surface.

"I figured you could use that for your lesson plans," Jared said when Jensen finally looked up at him. "I know you already have something, but seriously, you're the teacher now. You need something a little more sophisticated than a spiral notebook."

"It's perfect, Jay." Jensen opened the second gift, finding two books he had been wanting inside.

The third gift was smaller than the others. Jensen noticed the way Jared was watching him and figured that this was the gift Jared had been agonizing over. He carefully ripped open the packaging to find a new iPod inside. Jensen's old mp3 player had died a painful death that involved Mike, a party, and a lot of rum. He'd been meaning to replace it forever but just hadn't gotten around to it.

"Now that's exactly what I wanted," Jensen told Jared as he turned the box over in his hands. It was a newer model than his ancient one. This one had video capability and more space than Jensen needed. "Seriously, man, this is great. Looks like it has been opened, though. That on purpose?"

Jared blushed. "Well, I figured I'd load it up for you."

Jensen turned on the player and scrolled through the menu, curious to see what music Jared had added. His eyes widened as he saw some of the selections. "Some of these CDs aren't even out yet."

Jared shrugged and gave him a crooked smile. "One of the perks of working for a radio station."

Jensen stared at the gift. It was such a simple thing, really, but it meant so much. The mp3 player itself was a practical item and Jared knew he'd wanted another one. But by taking the time to load it with all of Jensen's favorite music, he'd added that little extra something. It was the perfect mix of the two of them and their shared love of music. His smile was so wide he felt his face would surely break. "Ok, now it's your turn."

Jensen leaned over and reached for the remaining gifts under the tree. He handed the two packages over to Jared and leaned back, resting his back against the brick fireplace.

Jared eyed the two gifts. Jensen nodded toward the slightly larger one. "Open that one first."

Jared nodded and tore into the wrapping paper like a child, eager to see the contents. Jensen watched as his eyes grew wide and his breath hitched. "Jen, how'd you-" his voice was soft, barely more than a whisper.

It was Jensen's turn to blush. "I saw you eyeing it every time we went to the store. I know you didn't say anything, but...well, I figured you'd like it."

"Like it?" Jared exhaled. "I fucking love it."

The look on Jared's face was worth every penny he paid for the digital video camera currently cradled in his boyfriend's hands. Jared kept opening his mouth as if he wanted to say something but snapped it shut every time with a resounding clack when nothing came out. Jensen was pleased with himself. For once, he'd rendered Jared speechless.

"Now you can open the other one."

Jared looked up at him. "Nothing can beat this one."

"Well, it won't," Jensen admitted. "But it wouldn't have made as much sense if you had opened it first."

Jared tilted his head to the side, a considering look on his face. He reached for the second gift and opened it up, revealing the software Jensen had chosen. As Jared turned the box over to read the back, Jensen felt the need to explain. "You seemed to have a lot of fun working on that video project back when we first got together, I thought you might enjoy editing your own things. You know, for whatever."

Jared glanced up and grinned. "This is awesome, Jensen. Seriously awesome."

"Really?" Jensen just needed to know Jared truly meant it. He had wanted to make this Christmas extra special for Jared, seeing how it was their first one together.

Jared set the gifts to the side and leaned in. His eyes were dark and predatory and Jensen licked his lips, which were suddenly very dry.

"Best gifts ever," Jared practically purred into Jensen's ear. "I know just how I'm going to repay you."

Jensen frowned, his mind struggling to catch Jared's meaning as he did that. "You don't have to repay me. They're gifts, Jared."

Jared shook his head. "No, I really should repay you. I think it's time to make good on that promise."

Jensen shivered as Jared ducked his head down and mouthed the underside of his jaw. Finally catching on, he tilted his head to the side, giving Jared better access. "Well, if you insist."

"Oh, but I do." Jensen could feel Jared's smile against his neck. He wrapped one of his hands around Jared's chin and pulled him up, bringing their lips together. Jensen tried to put everything he was feeling into that kiss. All the love and warmth and rightness and ohmygodyesrightthere that was building up inside of him.

Jared slipped his hands under Jensen's shirt, running his thumbs along Jensen's ribs. He twisted the material in his fists and tugged upwards, pulling back long enough to rip the shirt over Jensen's head. Jared gently pushed Jensen to the ground, following him until they were pressed tightly together.

Jensen ran his hands across the firm muscles of Jared's back, stroked up and down before finally slipping his hands beneath the elastic waistband of Jared's boxers. He pressed down with his hands as his hips thrust upwards, groaning at the pressure.

Jared was busy keeping his promise. His mouth and hands moved across Jensen's skin, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. Jensen bucked up as Jared's hand brushed along his sides, talented fingers finding his ticklish spot, and Jared snorted. Jensen tried to glare at him but the effect was lost as Jared moved down his body, lips and tongue marking the area around Jensen's hip, just above his boxers.

Jared's hand was hot, his palm pressing against Jensen's straining erection. Jensen closed his eyes as Jared reached inside the thin fabric and wrapped long fingers around his shaft. He lost himself in the moment, not thinking, just reacting. His hips bucked up hard as Jared's nail traced the underside of his cock, his thumb rubbing across the head.

"So hot like this," Jared murmured into the sharp line of Jensen's jaw. He pressed his lips against Jensen's pulse point as he tugged his cock, the rough rhythm dragging a groan from Jensen's lips.

Jensen opened his eyes to find Jared staring down at him, watching him through heavy-lidded eyes. He bit his lip and thrust up into Jared's fist, the pressure building more and more with each movement.

Jared was relentless, his grip growing tighter with every thrust. He twisted his wrist on an upstroke and Jensen moaned. "That's it, Jen" Jared said, leaning down to whisper in Jensen's ear. "Come on. Come for me, baby."

Jensen barely heard the words. It was the low, rough rumble of Jared's voice that pushed him over the edge.

As the fire inside him settled, Jensen could feel Jared still moving, his hips grazing Jensen's as he rocked back and forth. Jensen reached down and wrapped his hand around Jared's, fingers tangling.

Jared growled as Jensen tightened his grip. Jensen could see the tremor go through Jared's body, feel the slight shake of the arm holding Jared up through the wrist pressed against Jensen's side. Jared's long hair hung in his face, his eyes impossibly dark as he stared down at Jensen. Jared's lower lip was white as his teeth dug into the tender flesh.

Jensen never found his boyfriend hotter than he did right before he lost control. His back ached as he arched up more to get a better grip on Jared. Jared's thrusts grew more and more erratic and Jensen knew he was close. He turned his head and bit into the flesh of Jared's forearm, running his tongue over the marks he left behind. Jared's hips stuttered and wet warmth covered Jensen's fingers and stomach.

Jared collapsed down beside Jensen, breathing heavy. He nuzzled Jensen's neck as he tried to catch his breath. Jensen wiped his hand on his boxers and rolled onto his side, facing Jared. He ran his hand up and down Jared's bicep, feeling the muscles jump at the contact. Jared's eyes were closed but he had a smile on his lips.

Jensen took a moment to stare at his boyfriend. The firelight danced behind him, casting his skin in a soft glow. He could see the twinkle of the Christmas lights out of the corner of his eye and the bright white of the snow out the window. The only sound that surrounded them was the soft murmur of their breathing.

It was as if they were the only two people that existed, tucked away in their private winter wonderland. It was perfect.

Jared released a content sigh and met Jensen's gaze, eyes soft. His mouth tilted in a crooked grin and he leaned forward, brushing his lips against Jensen's in a tender kiss. "Merry Christmas, Jensen."

Jensen smiled and wrapped his arm around Jared's waist, pulling him close and kissing him harder.

Merry Christmas indeed.
