Closing his eyes, Sawyer listened to the subtle guitar chord changes in the song. Finding the album in the others' barracks, he'd lovingly pulled the well-remembered vinyl out of its packaging to study the label before putting it on the turntable. The modern age of digital music meant little to him, but the warm sound of records belonged to his youth. He hadn't had the easiest life, and the song held a place in his heart that people seldom managed. He was convinced the music hadn't come effortlessly to the writers, and somehow that made it all the more his.
I like this :) It's sad, but strong and I believe this could be true.
(Putting aside the fact that Sun did seem to have forgotten all about Yi Jeon when she went back to the island, but I'm suspecting we'll be seeing more of that.)
She wasn't sure what made her know that she could trust him no matter what. It had been adorable how much he was there for her as she was waiting for Aaron to be born. He had gone to great lengths in order to convince her that she needed to be in the caves with the peanut butter incident, but that wasn't the reason. Despite his addictions, despite the fact she hadn't even heard of his band before the crash there was something about Charlie Pace that just made Claire trust him with her whole heart and her whole being.
The one thing that surprises him the most about her is the amount of time she spends naked. Not that he’s complaining or anything, but sometimes he’s a little surprised to find her wandering down the hall without any clothes on. However, when he finds her in bed wearing nothing but that silly, but ridiculously cute, little mechanic kerchief; it’s a completely different story. He loves that ‘grease monkey’ outfit and she knows it, often using it to her advantage. As he caresses her skin he nips gently at her waist and murmurs,
On the first day they fought. Blood dropped onto virgin sand, punches and insults, gestures and words separating light from darkness, earth from sea. When the second day came lines were already drawn, roles already cast and neither Sawyer nor Sayid cared to see beyond what had been said and done.
Days went by and they stopped keeping count, instead meeting and touching and being known. Time skipped as they were parted, roles already discarded, the lines between them long since erased. Life forced them to move on until one day they meet once more, their life starting anew, love recreated.
