Forget moving to Canada, I have discovered a new interest in Sweden. Swedish
cities have a very small percentage of violent crime, drug abuse, and
savage poverty that blight whole communities, from New York to Los
Angeles. What I find highly impressive and remarkable, resides
with the fact that the government sees to virtually all human
needs. Sweden is considered to have the "weakest family on
earth"(I dont't think so). Why? Merely because people look
to the government, not spouses, for economic assistance. Sweden
has a high share of adults living alone(more than 20 percent, about the
same as in the U.S). I highly support the downfall of the
"traditional family". There is a growing culture of individualism
and self-fulfillment, along with the declining influence of religion(thank
the goddess). The rate of women in the workforce is higher than
in the U.S even. The Swedish government offers its citizens a lifetime
of services, including the delivery and schooling of children,
comprehensive health care, support when there isn't any work, and
funeral services. I find it interesting that women are paid for
18 months of maternity leave verses the the ninety days here in the
U.S.
....Oh, and yes, same-sex couples can legally marry in Sweden. Naw on that George "fucking loser" Bush.
