OH C'MON MARTS PLEASE. i get both your and carlo's points, but carlo's from the elitist circle, and you're not. so there's a difference from your points of perspective. dan brown may be formulaic and all, but i do agree with you that he "changed the world" (mind the quotation marks), in that he sparked a lot of debates and discussions, and he opened up an aspect of religion and the Catholic institution that was previously known only to a select few.

i think what carl means by "author who changed the world" is an author who changed the literary stuck-ups' world. we all know how pretty small that is. you don't need to feel ashamed with sir max and ma'am rica. who knows, for all of sir max's harold bloom-ish sentiments, he is secretly in love with dan brown and the rest of them complicated R.L. Stine wannabes.

yes, you're right, if it weren't for Mel Gibson (Conspiracy Theory) and some other more popular books or movies supposedly influenced by the book, Holden Caulfield would just be some regular kid, and not the larger-than-life poster boy for teenage angst people make him out to be.

AND WHAT DOES THIS MEAN: "the best part about talking to intelligent people is that you always learn something fascinating. too bad that doesn't happen often enough" ?!?!?!?! AND YOU LET HIM TALK ABOUT YOU LIKE THAT?

well... we're talking bout carlo. i dont take him seriously. mas- insecure pa siya sa akin.

mas na-offend ako actually kay mundi. masyado silang na-apektohan. hehe!

either way, its nothing serious. just posted it to show can be so biased and full of it. hehe!
