This is actually a part of a much bigger story which uses a significant chunk of the established main cast of KH/KHII.
In KHII when the Organization shows up, it's eventually revealed how the first six of them came to be (And the thirteenth member). Nothing is said about how members 7 through 12 got to be there.
It's implied that at one point there were other keybladers around at one point (it's Xigbar who says this) and he taunts you, saying that there were others.
After the credits roll at the end of the game (and this was elaborated on in Final Mix + which we didn't get here but You Tube is a marvelous thing.) that there was a war in the past, enough to leave a veritable field of keyblades.
Anyway, in my story, one of the Organization members tells Sora something about his past, referencing that he too knew other Keybladers.
Since really, the whole point of the original flashback was just to give some perspective on there being a noticiable difference between the kind of person the character used to be and the kind of character he is now and the story moves on from that point, I thought it'd be worth it to put a Side B in, because there's a story there too.
If people are that upset about having an original female protagonist, they dont have to read it; it's just a skippable part of the story that follows the cast they're familiar with. If they're genuinely interested in seeing what happened behind the scenes to get the characters to the point they are in my story, it's available.
