So, as I told you, I went to see Twilight last night, and here's what I thought of it.
Okay, so, overall, the movie had flaws, I won't lie and pretend it was all perfect and sweet and gaaaaaaaaaaaaaahiiiiiilooooovediiiiit! But, overall, it was really, really a nice book adaptation. I think it could have been way worst that it was.
Robert's acting? It was great. I mean, he isn't bloody fantastic or anything, but he gets it and that's just fine. He plays Edward well, gets his insecurities better than I thought he would and, damn, I think every boy in the audience wanted to be just like him. He was sweet when he needed to be, and brooding when he needed to be. So, that was great.
Kristen has been getting lots of notsogreath critics, but I don't really agree. What made me like her was that she got Bella's awkwardness. She was cynic, and it was just great. The only time that I thought her acting was bad as hell was in the hospital, when Edward tells her that he should leave her to protect her or whatever, when she started to freak out... I started to laugh. That was BAD. But the rest was fine, really.
What made the movie great was the connection between Kristen and Robert. It was amazing, and that's what did it for me.
One of the things that made the movie great? THE HUMANS. I MEAN, REALLY. Eric was the greatest thing in the world. MY GOD, he made me laugh way more than usual. Jessica, too, was great. I loved the dress shopping, haha. Mike was great, too.
CHARLIE. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. MY GOD, THE GUY IS FUNNY. LOVED HIM.
Now, Cullens. Loved them as a whole. Nikki Reed was okay. I think the greatest was, easily, Peter Facinelli (or however you spell his name). The way he carried himself had Carlisle written all over him. And when he entered, I literally moaned. I MEAN IT. Doctor suit? REALLY. And I loved the flashback scenes, when he bites Edward and Esme. I loved seeing him in despair after biting Edward. That kind of killed me. Whatever, I loooved him. Sexy and all. NOW. JASPER. I already told you the Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands ressemblance, but I never told you what I thought of him. He had what? 2-3 lines? And he made such an impression on my friends and I. He was great. I loved how even the humans thought he looked in pain, haha, that was great. And he did it beautifully. Kellan Lutz was great as Emmett, and Ashley Greenewas the cutest as Alice. Also, hello Elizabeth Reaser as Esme. I loved how she squeeled when Bella and Edward were about to enter the kitchen, it was sweet.
James, Laurent and VICTORIA were just awesome, tyvm. LOVED Rachelle Lefèvre and I'm proud to say that we're both from Québec. I loved the way she made it seem so... painful at the end. I saw the pain. It was like "okay, I get you girl. make them suffer, they deserve it all the way."
When Edward started climbing trees for like 32842387432 minutes, I just said (out loud, thank you) "hey, look, a squirell!" (or, in french "eille! un écureuil!" and there were like... our row of people the the two rows in front of us and behind us that started to laugh because of that. I'm proud.
The lullaby? I thought it was cute. But, I mean, isn't that piece of music way too simple? The book described it as complex, no?
Jacob. I was like "gtfo." and, like, you know I LOVE Jacob. He was just... weird. BUT, I loved the ending, when he came to talk to Bella and there's like this HUGE Eclipse vibe going on when you see the rivality between Edward and him. Loved that.
So. It was nice. Cool. Enjoyable.
I'm done, you guys.
