“You’re really doing this?” Chanyeol asks Baekhyun, his best friend; his stupid and cheeky friend.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” Baekhyun smirks and takes a paper from his backpack. He scribbles something and Chanyeol knows what it is. Baekhyun came up with a plan yesterday and he, for sure, told Chanyeol. “Where’s the kid?”
“Which kid?” Chanyeol asks, they’re on high school, for God’s sake, there’s no kids.
“Jongin you ass, Jongin.” he hides in the corner and observes the lockers. After a few minutes the black haired boy they were searching for, appears. Baekhyun jumps on his spot and Chanyeol decides to leave the scene, he doesn’t want to witness anything anyway. His friend can tell him the development later.
Slowly (and cooly, because Baekhyun is cool and badass) he approaches the boy. The hall’s filled with students, so he pretends that he bumps into Jongin by accident (there’s no such a thing as an accident, Baekhyun laughs) and glues the paper he had in hands on the boy’s backpack.
He exits the building.
Jongin waits for the hall to be a little emptier so he can walk around without losing balance. He notices some girls pointing at him and then giggling. What are they giggling for?
He finds it weird, because girls don’t usually look at his direction. He turns back to his locker and takes out his math notebook from the inside He hears laughter behind his back and decides to check what’s so funny. It’s not possible that his clothes are dirty or his backpack is open and everything is around on the hall. He clearly remembers zipping up his backpack.
He tries to reach his backpack with both hands and finds something in there.
A paper was glued there.
‘Yo call me’ it reads followed by a phone number. He looks around trying to find the culprit and from afar, he sees one of his seniors sneaking a glance at him from the corner of the hall. He shakes his head, if he saw it right that was Byun Baekhyun. He was one of the popular guys of the school and he just winked at him.
He blushes, light pink covering his whole face as he slams the door of his locker closed and runs away.
The girls are still giggling.
“Do you think it worked?” Baekhyun asks Chanyeol later when they’re having lunch. “I don’t know? You just told me he ran. Running away’s not a good sign, not at all.” Chanyeol stuffs his mouth with the pancakes they’re having today and chokes when he sees Jongin entering the cafeteria, looking around like he’s searching for someone. Someone like, maybe, mister B.
He pokes Baekhyun when he notices Jongin approaching their table. “Hey Jongin, what brings you here?” Baekhyun smirks and winks at him, making Jongin blush as he takes a paper out from his pocket.
“I think you left this somewhere.” he shoves the paper on Baekhyun’s face and runs away, again.
“No wait it’s yours.” Baekhyun waves the paper and Chanyeol takes it out of his hands.
“This’ not your paper.” he says after looking at the paper and turning it around, maybe something might’ve been written there.
“Really?” Baekhyun squeaks and takes the paper away from Chanyeol’s big hands, almost ripping it in the process.
‘I don’t have a cellphone, sorry.’ it reads and Chanyeol bursts out laughing.
“This is not funny.” Baekhyun pouts and Chanyeol pokes him in the cheek.
“Yeah, it isn’t, but it’d get funny if you turned the damn paper and took a better look at it.” Chanyeol says and forgets about Baekhyun, he has a heavenly pancake waiting to be finished.
“What?” Baekhyun turns the paper around ‘but you can come to talk to me in person’. Baekhyun looks at the cafeteria’s entrance and widens his eyes.
He sees Jongin sneaking a peek at him, like he did earlier and the boy blushes, waving at him. When Baekhyun gets up to go talk to him, Jongin runs away to God knows where.
“Aww he’s so cute.” Chanyeol says, mouth stuffed with half eaten pancakes.
“I know right? But he’s mine, go to your pancakes. I’m gonna hunt him down right now.” Baekhyun aggressively shoves some of the food on Chanyeol’s mouth and exits the cafeteria.
“Come back here! Kim Jongin!”
Jongin runs for his life.
Baekhyun follows him, who’s running through the school halls until he takes a turn, and soon enough he finds himself standing near the football field. He looks around, searching for the boy.
“Jongin?” he asks. The boy’s nowhere in sight and that’s weird, because Baekhyun remembers seeing him coming to his direction.
The cracking noises of leaves gives out Jongin’s whereabouts and Baekhyun slowly makes his way to a tree, which is around five meters away. He can even take sight of Jongin’s blue sweater, maybe the tree wasn’t the best place to hide; the trunk is too thin.
Carefully to not startle his ‘prey’, Baekhyun circumvents the place and holding his breath he silently stands near the boy.
“Hey.” he says and Jongin jolts on his place. He brings his right hand to his chest, possibly checking his fast heartbeat. “Don’t run away anymore, please? I’m not the athletic type.”
With a shy nod of his head, Jongin leans against the tree and avoids eye contact with Baekhyun.
“I’m sorry.” he mutters, it’s funny how he didn’t talk much to Baekhyun, and it’s funny how Baekhyun didn’t actually manage to strike a conversation with him. It’s almost one of the first times he hears his voice in weeks, Jongin is usually pretty reserved and he only speaks when necessary.
“That’s okay.” Baekhyun’s still panting, damn his sedentary tendencies, good thing he’s slim and cool and good looking or else he’d be screwed. “I just- were you serious about the paper?”
The face Jongin makes and the color it gets it’s so, so cute that Baekhyun wants to pinch his cheeks. He had always observed the kid and it’s completely endearing how he acts all shy around him. Baekhyun imagines him being one of the best students in his class.
“Kind of.” he whispers and Baekhyun almost jumps around and screams out loud that Jongin is his and that nobody can touch or look at him.
“Marry me.” Baekhyun blurts out before he can stop himself. The younger widens his eyes and backs away. “No, I mean, I-”
With all the courage he could gather, Jongin takes a deep breath and hushes Baekhyun’s babbling with his index finger. Slowly, he holds the elder’s shirt and nervously looks around.
“What are you doing?” Baekhyun asks intrigued, Jongin meets his eyes with shaking hands and lowers his back to near Baekhyun’s height. “What are you-”
Baekhyun doesn’t manage to finish his words when Jongin presses their lips together. It’s his turn to widen his eyes but he closes them afterwards.
As Baekhyun imagined, Jongin’s as sweet, cute and shy all at once and not only when he’s being himself, like when he’s talking to his friends or walking around the school, but he’s also like this when he’s kissing. He’s not trying to deepen it (maybe that’d be Baekhyun himself) and he’s still holding him by his shirt, hands shaking a little as his eyes are closed tightly.
The stubborn is Baekhyun, and since he’s like this, he makes use of his hands, which were lying at the sides of his body, to (yes) deepen the damn kiss. He pulls Jongin by the neck a little lower, he may be younger but he’s way taller, so the harsh move has Jongin gasping into the kiss and he stumbles forward while Baekhyun manages to hold him still.
Naughty Baekhyun takes advantage of the situation to lick his way into Jongin’s mouth, earning another gasp from the boy, who seems surprised but doesn’t complain in the end.
They stay like that, enjoying each other’s warmth until Jongin runs out of oxygen and needs to pull away, rosy cheeks and all while Baekhyun has a silly smile plastered on his face.
“Are we dating?” Baekhyun has a hopeful glow on his eyes and the way he’s looking at Jongin with so much affection gets the boy unease.
He opens his mouth to reply but no sounds come out so he closes it afterwards.
“I’ll take that as a yes.” Baekhyun bites his lower lip and smiles. “Can I hold your hand?”
With a low ‘yes’ coming from Jongin’s lips, Baekhyun beams as he takes the younger’s hand into his own.
“You’re mine now.” Baekhyun whispers making the boy’s ears turn crimson.
He tugs on Jongin; the latter’s not moving and they need to run back to school, lunch time’s almost over.
