I fell off a horse

Today I went horseback riding for the first time in my life, which is something that I thought I would never do. While I admire big animals, I usually like doing it from a distance. But I was convinced to take a 2 hour long ride on an Icelandic horse because A) I wanted to make this other person happy, B) Icelandic horses are smaller and usually easy for beginners and C) Why not?

When we got to the stable the instructor told me that I would be riding on a horse named Eik. Eik turned out not to be much unlike me, stopping every 5 minutes to look for food and going slow (not bothered about everyone else being way ahead and constantly having to stop and wait for her). Aside from that she was a very calm horse and great for a beginner like me. The actual riding was bumpier than I had imagined but I got used to it after a while. It felt quite peaceful and I liked it a lot until the instructor suggested that I try galloping. Unfortunately I was wearing sneakers so my left foot slipped out of the stirrup and I didn't hold onto Eik's mane tight enough so I ended up falling off. Luckily I was wearing a helmet and only got a few scratches and bruises. I got back up on Eik and we kept on riding but I was relieved when the instructor didn't suggest galloping again. Despite the bruises it was a fun experience and I would like to do it again some day.

Tomorrow I have the final Turkish exam. I realized yesterday that while I know the grammar, I haven't really focused on the vocalbulary. It's the result of the first teacher telling us we could bring a dictionary because the grammar was the most important part of the exam and the second teacher telling us on the second to last lesson that we weren't allowed to bring dictionaries because we might cheat by writing in the grammar in it. I'm trying very hard to repeat the grammar while trying to improve my vocabulary at the same time. But it's so difficult for me to know which words are important to know since none of the lessons or exercises focused on vocabulary.

Flying off to Turkey the day after that. Tatilde Alanya'ya gidegegim.
