Poll time!
So, I'm thinking about writing a book this summer. No job = a lot of free time. I already have the gist of the story in my head, I'm just not sure where I'm going to place the story and in what language to write it.
Most of the time I write in English and I feel that my writing is better in English than in Swedish when it comes to fiction. Obviously that would have to place the story in an English speaking country. I've travelled to a few and stayed in the US a total of 5-6 months if I put all of my trips together, but not actually lived anywhere but Sweden.
On the other hand, I could write in Swedish and have it set in Sweden. Having it set in Sweden would be best because it would feel more real and obviously close to home to me. On the other hand, I haven't written any fiction in Swedish in a couple of years and my Swedish writing doesn't have the same "flow" as it does in English.
