Well, to be honest I wasn't that impressed with the premiere. Not that I was dissatisfied, but I didn't get the "OMG!! GOTTA WATCH THE NEXT EPISODE!!!" kind of feeling that I got during the second half of season 1. I thought it did set up some interesting plotlines though and it was nice to see how the characters were doing four months later.
The Bennetts/Butlers - I thought it was refreshing to see Claire struggling to fit in and not actually wanting to fit it. Usually in a series where the character has powers they keep going on and on about wanting to be normal and in Claire's case pretending to be normal isn't exactly making her happy. I wasn't too keen on the guy she met at school, but the fact that he can fly should make him more interesting. HRG never fails to disappoint, I thought it was funny how he had ended up in the paper business again. I'm excited about him working with Mohinder to bring down the company, it shows how long they have both come since the first episode in season 1. Also nice to see Sandra and Lyle again, not to mention Mr Muggles.
Hiro - To be honest I'm not really that interested in his plotline, but having David Anders as Takezo Kensei makes up for it. Am I the only one thinking that Hiro is actually the Takezo Kensei of the legends?
Kaitoh Nakamura & Ando - I thought it was sweet how Hiro's father was waiting for Hiro to come back in the exact place where Hiro was last seen. It's a shame that he died though, I enjoyed having him on the show. Another sweet thing was Ando's neverending dedication to Hiro and by extension to Hiro's father.
The happy family (aka Mohinder, Matt and Molly) - I never expected the three of them to live together, but I think it's very cute. They do seem like a family, with Matt picking Molly up from school and their conversation about his (lack of) cooking.
The unhappy family - Nathan stopped his regular visits to the barbershop and Grandma Petrelli is receiving death threats. I thought that there would be more Nathan in this episode but I guess that will come later. The shocking cliffhanger of this episode was Peter being chained up in Ireland with no memory of who he is. I am not too happy about this because I hate amnesia as a plot device. Hopefully he'll regain his memory soon and we'll find out exactly what happened to him.
The nonexistant family - Where was D.L., Niki and Micah? They'll probably show up soon, I was just surprised they weren't in this episode.
Alejandro & Maya - I figured that out of the two of them it was Maya who had some sort of power... not much else that I can say about them now, they haven't become that interesting yet.
