In a coat of gold or a coat of red, a lion still has claws

Since I am on mid-semester break I finally found the time to watch Game of Thrones. It was everything people told me and more. Just, wow. It was so captivating and gripping I honestly couldn't stop watching, went through both seasons in a week and a half. And the last two episodes....I was sobbing. I don't think I've ever come across a television ( Read more... )

omg I'm so happy you love it too! :D GoT is my newest TV obsession. I love it so, so much. It's just the best in every which way. I was hooked from the pilot and then after the first season ended I took the summer to read the books and it made it all the better. If you can find the time you should give them a whirl. They're massive but worth it.

YES it is so so good! And it lived up to the hype which was even more incredible to me. Definitely hooked from the first episode as well. Who's your favourite character? Personally it started off Arya (adorable little thing she is) and now it is definitely Tyrion. And I'm never one to like the characters that have shades of grey about them but there is just something so incredible about him and now I'm absolutely worshipping his character. And yes yes I definitely want to read the books, it'll pass the time until we all wait for s3!

My favorite characters are definitely Arya and Tyrion. They're both so badass in entirely different ways. Arya's a great little fighter but Tyrion fights verbally and mentally moreso than with a sword. I wish they'd team up at some point. They'd make an epic duo.

I also really like Jon Snow (though he doesn't get awesome until much later), I did like Dany at first but her whining gets hard to bear after a while. This might sound incredible but Jamie Lannister actually gets really amazing and I've grown to like him a lot, naturally I love Samwell too, also Margaery Tyrell and Dolorous Edd. I'm hoping to see more of the last 3 next season. :B

DO IT. The books can get really descriptive to the point of annoyance but bear with it, there's a lot of payoff, especially in book 3.

Yesssss I completely agree! They would definitely make a fab duo. Cannot wait to see more of them next season.

Yes Jon and Dany I adore for their pretty faces! haha. Actually now that I'm thinking about it there are very few characters I outright dislike. Obviously Joffrey is horrendous, and Stannis doesn't seem redeemable at all. I've heard people liking Jamie - right now he seems near intolerable except for the last episode...I could see glimpses of a potential likeable character.

Have you see the SDCC Game of Thrones video with the new cast? I have no idea who the characters are but some of the actors I really love. Looks so good. Definitely makes me want to read the books even more. I'll have to get on that.

Stannis doesn't really get any better tbh. He's actually pretty polarizing, you eityher love him or not. I'm on the not side. There are some people I do outright hate but if I say who it will spoil things for you so I'll stay mum. Jamie I actually really disliked at first and in the third book when we got his first POV I was so annoyed. But GRRM is smart and he did a lot with Jamie. It was impossible not to like him after a time.

I AM SO EXCITED BY THAT VIDEO. Sorry for the capslock but omg they picked some great people. I'm mostly excited by Oleanna and the Reeds. Oleanna is another favorite character of mine and I think that actress will be perfect. The Reeds are essential characters and should have been introduced in S2 so I'm mostly excited that they've finally arrived. They really add a lot to certain characters' story lines. Again I won't say who but with this casting S3 looks to be exactly on track to be amazing.
