disclaimer before anyone gets into a huff, I wrote this as soon as I saw that the starters were announced, I didn't read anyone's entries, and choose to bitch. Alright? Good.
2004 NHL All-Star Starters
Blah blah blah. So, Modano, Turco and Guerin don't play for the best team, and sure as hell aren't playing their best either. Big freaking deal. They're there, and that's it. What difference does it make? It's not as if anyone really thought that people actually go by their stats, and not by how much they like them. Honestly. And the people complaining about it being a popularity contest, are you just figuring this out now? Well, no freakin' shit it is. It's always been like that. I'm sure just as many guys voted for Turco, than girls. And that idiot on SportsNet who said the girls should quit stuffing the ballotboxes. What about the gay guys, eh? Or the girls who actually give two shits about hockey. Or say they do, I don't know.
I didn't vote for the All-Star game this year. And as soon as I saw the starters, I go 'Oooh. I like him.' or 'Boo. The hell's he doing there?' Who were people expecting on the list? I doubt anyone wanted Thornton on the starter list. He's only got 7 goals this season. (That's one less than Modano, but anyway.) The ballots are from last year, anyway. You know, stats from last year. No one has two seasons exactly the same. So Modano's not playing too well. And? For the most part, the people complaining about him making it as a starter are the ones who don't like him. I would have liked to see Forsberg there, sure, but then, wouldn't the anti-Forsbergs (hey.) start 'Eww. Why is he there?'
It's a popularity contest. Plain and simple. When people start to understand that, the five of them will quit voting on stats, and move on. Does anyone really sit at the computer for hours going through the best players? Write them in? No. And if you did, then wow. I barely had enough time to type out this entry. Kudos. But, whatever. Last year, Modano being starter, I wasn't even at home watching the game. I was at someone's birthday party, the TV on in the background. And I taped ABC coverage, which sucked of ass. So, maybe this year I'll get to enjoy a little Modano action. And maybe Turco will let in 8 goals in the first period. It's all in good fun, anyway?

My new planner is dedicated to Hobbits. Well, LotR and the 80s, technically. Since Aragorn and the GoGos are aplenty. I learned yesterday that it's plenty not pleanty. shrug
Anyone have an FTP? If so, I need a big favour.
