[It isn't easy to see when Grune's journal clicks on today. Instead of bright sunlight, the way Grune's friends might be expecting, the light here is dull and red. The view shows vanishing ice, blood, and a man on the ground

[Jaw is pretty dropped. Though Grune's been doing this fairly often lately.
Okay, jaw back into place. Grune looks like she's okay, for now, so she can bury her worry -- well, most of it, as a little of it creeps into her tone.]
Not as late as I would have been if Vyc hadn't mentioned you were back. /forgot to track threadxelhesAugust 8 2011, 21:09:01 UTC
I'm? [Why does he sound surprised to hear her name? ...And why does he sound so familiar? Hmm.
But while she's puzzling over that, there are more pressing concerns.]
She was? [Fenimore, don't sound surprised.] Are you going to be all right? I could get Walter to go find you. [She also needs to get used to the idea that she can't order Walter around the way Shirley could have if she weren't so nice.]
Right. I'll go find -- hey! [To avoid turning this into a fourway given how slow I am normally also because I am shy about poking people it is time for PET TO THE RESCUE SUDDENLY THE VIDEO (if they are looking at it) IS TAKEN UP BY THE FACE OF A LARGE BIRD. He squawks and begins to hop away.
Fenimore picks up the journal.] Sorry about that. He's just...where is he going? [Her journal's still open, but she's going to be following after him for the moment since he's the closest she's got right now to someone to beat up monsters and would rather not lose him.]
Ques is a peepit. [As though everyone should know what one of those is.] ...I guess you could call him a pet, but he's been doing better as a guard for the moment. Which is why he should stop hopping off and get back here!
[The last sentence is addressed at Ques, who is still ignoring that.]
[But Ques is willing to learn! Which is to say he is in the middle of taking off, as can be noted by Fenimore shouting:]
Don't start flying n -- ! [And she accidentally shuts her journal as she tucks it under her arm. How successful Ques's quest is depends on whether you want to continue to [action] later or to wait for a different opportunity.]
[Not long after, a bird that's nearly half as tall as a person descends from the sky directly towards Grune. An insatiable force of nature, eternally ravenous for one thing....
He hungers for cuddles! Oh noooooooo. ...But moreso peaches if they have any. That'd be nice.
(It may be possible to see an out-of-breath Fenimore somewhat more distantly trying to catch up.)]

Grune? Are you okay?

[She glances over at Giles and frowns, just a little. Fenimore will be able to hear her concern.] But Giles is hurt.

Y-You're...
[You're so not five years old.
Yes, this is the most pressing matter at the moment. It's certainly the easiest.]
Um...hello. N-Not badly. Grune was, um, very helpful.

Thank you. I think that would be a good idea.

...or at least getting to a clinic. S-So, um, yes. That would probably be a very good idea, Fenimore.

In fact, she leans forward a little.] Is Ques coming, too?

He leans forward along with Grune.] What on earth is "Ques"?

Ques is very smart. I'm sure he and Fenimore will find us soon.

[Even as Giles speaks, the cave fades around them, leaving the two sitting on the entirely undisturbed bank of the river.]
