Canisius College Republicans

Last night I attended my first Canisius College Republicans meeting. Canisius College Republicans or CCR seems like the club for me.

They do an awful lot for local Republican officials and candidates in their campaigns. During Halloween we're all going down to Pennslyvania to give people sheets that say, "The Great Pumpkin Supports George W. Bush." In mid-october we're traveling to Syracuse University. Not coincidentally, on that same day, Michael Moore will be giving a speech at SU. We'll be protesting with other Republicans from across the state in a "I Love George W. Bush Rally." It seems there are many things to do.

I met Dan Centinell, who is the Chairman of the New York State College Republican Committee. I got his business card and he said to keep in touch so I could get involved with the state part of our organization. I saw him again today at the bookstore. He was outside the store getting cash out of the ATM. When he walked by and say me waiting in line he shouted, "Dan the Man, how's it going?" I replied, "Hey, nice to see ya."

Previous to this meeting I met our club's chairman, Tony Marrone, at the sign up seminar for all the clubs at Canisius. He seems like and interesting guy to hang around with. He's in my MAT 105 class. That's good for short talk.

Daniel R. Aikin is now officially a Canisius College Republican.
