Ways and Means

We all went to Starfarm. Okay. We graduated from Starfarm. Okay. We survived it. We did it. And we did it together.

And now, we have all gone separate ways. Some have stayed within the Starpoint district, some have moved across states, and others within a few hours of home.

Our bubbles have been popped. There are no more comfort zones. We don't know anyone. We are uncomfortable. We have no sense of security. We have no idea where we are. Now, we must make new friends. We must find new comfort zones and begin to feel secure in our changed lives. It's certainly not easy.

Regardless of where we are or what we're doing, is it good enough that we were together at some point and had all that crazy fun? But wouldn't be even better if we could cherish in our hearts and minds those great times we had even though we're so far apart? Yes, I think so.

Yes, I think that feel insecure at this point in our lives is great. Yes, I think not knowing anyone in our new bubbles is great. What will be even greater is our reaction to these changes.

I hope I'll keep up with all you Starpointers. Unfortunately, I know this will not be the case. We were quite the gang back in the day. In ten, twenty, thirty years I hope to be at our High School Reunion or even see you at a restaurant and say, "Hey! Do you remember me?" and you'll reply "Daniel Aikin, you dirty Republican you." And I'll say, "Insert Name Here- it's great to see you." Then I hope you'll tell me your triumphs and tragedies over the past years and we will reminisce of the good 'ol days.
