Have had a busy but quiet day or so since return.
Shopping for food. Cooking. Laundry. Moral indignation and Visa research.
Today was knitting - fixing the back of my jumper (sweater) so it matches the front. The knitting group helped me decide the back was the bit that was wrong, not the front.
I also had lunch with one of the ladies, Jean. Jean & I are 40 years apart in age, and it doesn't matter a bit. We had a looong lunch & I hope we do it again before I leave. I hope to see some of her embroidery too: she's a Guild certified embroiderer!
Did a bit of weeding of the gravel path with Mrs Host & the Lovely Daughter, as the kitchen in their holiday cottage is being featured in a news article on kitchen renosi. Did some more cooking for dinner. Watched a dvd, with Badger the dog curled up against me as I sat on the floor and leaned against my easychair. (I felt quite flattered, actually, he usually sticks much closer to his mum.)
Tried to sort some technology glitches with some work from Melbourne. Did some very unsatisfying online research into a short jaunt to the other side of the country I hope to take in late September.
Tomorrow I get a much-needed massage (hurrah) and might even speak to Mr Arcadia if our schedules ever coincide again.
This weekend is August bank holiday weekend in UK. The last hurrah before the students go back to school next Friday. Tonight, for the first time I felt a hint of autumn in the air.
