The eye of the beholder

There is a lot of soft porn art in Paris.  These three lovelies hardly qualify.  I think they are art as well as "rudie ladies".  Some of the others, I'm not so convinced about.  Over by the Invalides museum of the army, there are more soldiers protecting cowering nubile women than you can poke a stick at.

While I ate my lunch today, I watched a young woman perch on the plinth beside these lovelies, while she instructed her boyfriend on how to take a good shot.  She tried different positions of arms and feet.  She took her sunglasses off.  She put her sunglasses on.  She held the hand of the Grace on the left.  She put her arm around the Grace on the left.  After the fourth time she went so far as to jump down to review the picture, and told him to try something else, I wanted to call out:  "My dear, if you're going for veracity, you'll need to strip off. Near enough really is good enough sometimes."  But they were too far away, they were probably German, and the fifth attempt was the charm. The poor boyfriend's shoulders slumped with relief as she allowed the 37th shot was good enough.
