eliminating emotional clutter

Today we have nothing to do. I'm  learning to appreciate these kind of days as they seem to be fewer and fewer lately.  I've been working back-to-back doubles on the weekends. I'm also purposely arranging things to do with friends and family nearly every weekday to stay busy and distract myself from the loneliness that comes with Chris being on tour. Hanging out around the apartment and knowing that he's miles and miles away always brings me down. Thankfully, this time around I have my little sidekick -Julia is the best companion I could ask for-  and some really amazing friends to keep me occupied. Really, we've been having a lot of fun, and Chris is home for a few days now, so it will be a relaxed week, I think.

On the other hand, work is a little crazy. I'm still adjusting to working all the extra hours and it's getting to the point that I'm almost dreading the weekends because of how exhausting they can be. Not only am I putting in more than double the time I'm used to, but I'm also working DAY shifts! If you don't know, for the last three and a half years I have worked almost exclusively between the hours of 7pm-7am, and let me tell you, the night shifts are so much more relaxed in comparison.  I give credit to anyone who works days regularly. I'm just not a morning person, and it's really a challenge for me!

tour, work
