The bright, white light was all Kia could see. It filled her whole vision so that she had the feeling of being very alone. She couldn’t figure out where the light was coming from. Carefully, Kia stood and, turning in circles, looked for the source. After what seemed like an eternity, she gave up and stared hard at the blank whiteness. Panic overtook her senses. Her heart started beating wildly.
“Where am I?” she wondered aloud. She thought of her parents, her brother, and her friends. Do they know she’s gone?
Suddenly, a black dot appeared in her peripheral vision. She snapped her head in that direction and rubbed her eyes wearily, thinking they were playing tricks on her. No, the black dot was still there growing steadily by the second. Kia watched, her heart thumping nervously in her chest as the dot began to take the shape of a person. She squinted until she could just make out a tall, willowy figure with straight shoulder length hair and skin tight pants.
“A girl,” Kia thought relieved. “At least I won’t get raped.” She laughed shakily at how ridiculous her thoughts sounded.
The girl walked closer and closer until Kia could make out her face. She was clearly Asian with her sharply pointed, slanting eyes and broad nose. Her eyes were the color of sparkling chocolate fringed with long, dark lashes and her skin was tan.
“She’s so beautiful,” Kia thought. Then, her eyes widened as she took in the vaguely masculine features. She looked on, confused at the sudden realization.
“She’s a boy!” she realized.
The boy was walking gracefully toward her, almost floating on air. He was right in front of her, now, standing only about a foot away. Kia couldn’t speak. She could only stand there and take in his delicate beauty. They continued to stare at each other like that for what seemed like hours. When Kia couldn’t take it anymore, she looked up directly into his eyes.
“Who are you?” she murmured curiously. The boy didn’t answer her. Instead, he took one hand and brought it to her cheek, caressing it lovingly.
Shocked, Kia stood there, frozen by the sudden touch. Something in his expression, so full of... was that...
love?...
...made her knees feel week and wobbly. The boy stepped closer to her. Now, they were only centimeters apart, their lips almost touching. Kia closed her eyes as he moved forward, anticipating the brush of his lips. When it didn’t happen, she sighed confusedly.
When she opened her eyes to see if he was just making fun of her, she was weighed down by her disappointment. She wasn't surrounded by bright light anymore. Darkness encompassed her as she lied in bed staring at the ceiling of her bedroom.
“It was a dream,” Kia whispered to herself. Her heart sunk as the realization washed over her. Everything had felt so real. She could still feel the ghost of his gentle touch as he stared at her. Her hand flew up to her cheek as she shook her head. Impossible. It couldn’t be real. She shook her head once more for good measure and laid back down. No matter how hard she tried, she just couldn’t get to sleep again that night.

Taemin sat in the small café sipping his bubble tea slowly. Ever since he and his friends had gotten to New York he had been in his own little world. He wasn't interested in what they were talking about. Usually it was just about their experience with girls, anyway, and that's not something Taemin could relate to.
The younger boy always seemed to feel a little left out by his friends anyway. Being the youngest of the five, he was often babied even though he completely detested it. Also, the four others were just so perfect that all the girls fall all over themselves to even be acknowledged by them. Taemin looked too much like a girl, anyway, with his soft facial features and shoulder length haircut.
As far as he could tell, girls liked manly boys with stubble and abs. No matter how hard he tried, he could never grow one hair on his face. He sighed and scanned the café, looking for anything to distract him from his thoughts without being pulled into a conversation.
His eyes caught the gaze of a girl sitting a few tables away. She was staring straight at him with wide, soft brown eyes under her adorable glasses. The bubble tea that she was drinking was halfway between her lips and the table as if she was about to take a sip. She looked surprised, as if he was some sort of angel sent from above. He scoffed at the thought
Don't think so highly of yourself, Taeminnie. You're nothing special.
He looked behind him half expecting her to be staring at someone interesting instead of him, but he was only leaning against a blank white wall. He was so preoccupied by the girl that he didn’t realize his friends had fallen silent and were smiling at him knowingly.
“Do you know her?” Onew whispered curiously. When he shook his head, Key squealed excitedly.
“Oh my GOSH. Go talk to her, baby! It looks like she likes you!” he exclaimed.
Minho shot the diva with his flaming charisma glare at the word baby, knowing how much Taemin hated being called by it. Jonghyun slapped Key on the shoulder.
“Yah! I thought I was your baby!” he pouted.
“Of course you are, love, but Taeminnie's my son. I just love you both in different ways,” Key grinned at him flirtatiously. Jonghyun smiled and bite his lip seductively. Onew rolled his eyes and took a huge bite of his fried chicken leg.
Wait... we're in a cafe. They don't even sell fried chicken here...
Taemin's thoughts were interrupted as Onew spoke again.
“Seriously, Taemin. Go talk to her. She seems pretty interested,” he said taking another bite. Minho nodded in agreement. Taemin looked at the girl again, laughing with her friends. He felt a reassuring hand on his shoulder. Without turning around, he knew it was Minho’s strong hand.
Out of all of his friends, the tall boy was the one that knew him best. They made out last week at a party while they were both a bit tipsy. They’ve had a special bond since then, though they haven’t spoken about it. They both definitely weren’t gay; it was more of an impulsive, one-time thing. They did seem to mutually enjoy it a lot though...
With another unsure glance at Minho's reassuring alien eyes, Taemin stood and made his way over to the girl's table. All talking stopped as he came to stand awkwardly beside an empty chair.
"Hi there," said the girl's friend. "My name's Sam and this is Kia." She gestured toward the girl who was glancing at him shyly.
"Kia," he thought and smiled ...

Her dream boy pointed to himself. "Taemin," he said pointing to himself and smiling. The world seemed to tilt slightly on it's axis as Kia watched the most perfect smile she had ever seen form on his face. So, her dream boy had a name.
Taemin. How interesting. It sounds a bit Korean. It's pretty, just like-
Sam nudged her expectantly, breaking off her train of thought. She coughed slightly and looked up at him.
"D-do you want to sit, T-Taemin?" she asked, cursing herself for stuttering like a lovestruck idiot. He nodded enthusiastically, smiled even wider, and sat in the empty chair next to her.
"So, Tae," Sam said. "You're not from America, are you?" Taemin shook his head.
"America! No... South Korea," he said in his adorable halting English. Kia gasped in spite of herself. Korea! He was from Korea! She was officially in kpop fangirling mode now.
"Korea! That's SO awsome! Seriously. I LOVE kpop," she rambled, "I can't understand most of the lyrics, but I'm trying to learn a little bit. I mean, that doesn't mean I can't like it, right? Music is music no matter--" She stopped and blushed when she realized he was just staring at her in amused fascination.
"Sorry, you probably don't care." She waved her hand dismissively, tryaing to play it off as if his thoughts on the matter didn't effect her. Taemin looked surprised and a little hurt.
"I care," he said simply and shrugged. Those two simple words were enough to melt her into a puddle of heart shaped goo at his Doc Marten clad feet.
"Yah, Taeminnie! Who're your friends?"
A shorter boy walked over to stand right behind Taemin. He was just as attractive as her dream boy, but he was more manly looking with a slight, raptor-like facial features. Kia tried to supress a laugh as she saw Sam looking into the brown puppy dog eyes. Sam didn't seem to notice anything else around her; she was too busy swooning.
Taemin rolled his eyes at the two girls, who laughed, and turned toward the boy. "Aish, Hyung!" he cried. Then he proceeded to speak to him in rapid Korean. The boy just kept laughing, the deep voice rumbling pleasantly through the room. The other three boys sitting at the table came over just as Danielle came back from the bathroom.
"Hey guys..." she trailed off when she noticed the five beautiful Korean boys talking to her friends.
[A/N: I didn't get to fix the rest of this fic, but I will soon. LOL It was so horrible before that I just HAD TO. So, WARNING: please to not read the rest because it's not done :D]
"Minho," he nodded continued staring at her, using his flaming charisma. She was swaying from the seducing stare. Eventually, the other two beautiful guys in the group came over and were introduced. The one with his hair half shaved and blond and the other half long flowing and brown was Key. The adorable, clumsy one who wouldn't stop rambling about chicken was Onew. They all talked together for a while. Kia and Tae drifted away from the group and continued getting to know each other in private. They were both so infatuated with each other that they didn't realize they were leaning very close.
Silently, Minho tapped the expensive watch on Taemin's right wrist. He looked at the watch, sighed, and seemed like he was about to argue with him. Minho just held his gaze until Tae finally nodded.
"Our plane. It leave soon. We have to go," Taemin said sadly. Kia said good-bye, sullenly hugging each gorgeous boy. She held Taemin longest of all taking in his slightly manly smell. Sort of like ax but less strong and more comforting. It felt so good to be in his arms. They seemed to fit with each other perfectly. She never wanted to let go.
As soon as the boys left, Kia couldn't help herself. She burst into tears. Sam and Danielle, being the amazing friends that they are, instantly started comforting her.
"Hey," Danielle said gently, "Do you want to tell us whats wrong?" She didn't answer, just sobbed even harder.
"Is it because of Taemin? Because you two were getting a little cozy, huh?" Sam guessed, "I mean I thought for sure he was going to kiss you, but he seemed too shy..." Kia slowly stopped and wiped her eyes.
"You think so?" she asked excitedly, "Well, I guess we're just going to have to find out!" With that, she sprang from her chair and practically flew out the door, dialing her mom's number as she went. In minutes they were in the car and speeding through the streets of Flushing toward JFK. The finally arrived after what seemed like hours to Kia.
She jumped out, and raced toward the desk silently cursing the lady who was taking five hours to look up the flight. Taking off again, with Sam and Danielle panting and lagging behind, she finally reached the waiting area. All three of them stood at the edge of a row of seats breathing hard and searching for the beautiful boys they followed here.
Suddenly, she caught sight of his long shining, perfect hair and pointed. "THERE!" she gasped. Fixing her hair and willing her breathing to calm down, she walked toward him. "TAEMIN!" she called when she was close enough to be heard. He glanced up from his magazine, startled.
"KIA!" he replied, smiling and getting up. They met each other half way and embraced tightly. "What are you here?" he asked curiously, melting her with his fobby Engrish. Kia blushed and pointed to him.
"I wanted to be able to talk to you more... Do you have a facebook or something?" He nodded and laughed. Then, just like in her dream, he looked at her lovingly and placed his hand gently on her cheek. Just like her dream, his face came closer until their lips were just centimeters apart. Just like her dream, she felt his warm breath and closed her eyes.
The anticipation was almost unbearable. She kept expecting to wake up in her room staring at her closet door again. But, finally, his lips pressed against hers softly and she knew she wasn't dreaming. For a moment she was floating, but then it was over and he was smiling down at her. She smiled too, and he kissed her again more firmly this time.
Just then, the announcement came on for the flight to board. Kia sighed as Taemin hugged her to him for what seemed like the last time. "I see you beautiful face some day soon, noona," he whispered. Kia blushed deeply at the compliment. "When?" she asked. "Korea is so far away!" He smiled and kissed her hand gently.
"Until we see again," he replied, "I will always shine in your heart and you in mine." They kissed once more, and then he left, waving before he disappeared beyond the door. This time, Kia didn't cry at his absence. Her heart merely ached like there was a missing piece. Something about the last words he said to her was tugging at her memory. She thought about it in the car. She figured it out when she got home. There was a reason why she dreamed of him so clearly. A few days earlier, a friend of hers had shown her a Korean band called SHINee. She loved their music and was just beginning to get into them. Excitedly, she looked up the band on google images. Kia watched as hundreds of pictures showed up on screen. She clicked on one with all five beautiful Korean boys. When it got bigger, she looked carefully at the faces. She recognized all of them. First there was Key, then Jonghyun, then Onew and Minho. When she got to the last boy she gasped and grinned widely. There stood Taemin his arm wrapped around Minho. Taemin. Her Taemin in a famous band. SHINEE
