Just a freaky thing

that you never think you're going to see, but always know its possible. Blake went down tonight.. and he went down hard, and never really got back up.. they brought out the backboard and the neck brace and the strecher.. he stood up and was put on the strectcher.. but for the 10 minutes he was on the ice, i can't tell you how scary it was.. and then when they took him off the ice past me, my heart sunk.. its nothing i ever want to see again.. but he's going to be ok..

From the Islanders site (11:15 pm) The big picture is that Jason Blake, injured in tonight's game between the Islanders and Minnesota Wild, is going to be okay.

Blake was taken to an area hospital for tests and will likely be kept overnight as a precautionary measure. However, he has complete feeling in all of his extremities and doctors have ruled out any serious back or neck injuries.

"Our thoughts are with Jason tonight," said Islanders coach Steve Stirling more than an hour after the game. "He knows he has the complete support of his team. We look forward to getting him back, but that's for another day. The good news is that he's going to be okay."

In a classy move, Minnesota defenseman Kurtis Foster, who was tangled up with Blake when the Islanders forward was injured, left a message of concern on Blake's cell phone tonight. Foster was given the good news before he left the Coliseum that Blake was feeling better and his injury is not expected to be serious.

says a lot about Foster.. I couldn't see anything cause it was the other side of the ice.. but on the news it showed Foster flipping out and trying to get Blake to open his eyes..
I blame it on the refs, and purely on the refs.. from the start they were assholes.. Asham getting penalties up the ass.. and then Blake was obviously tripped, or there was boarding.. but all i care is that jason is ok and he's going to be ok

... as for the olympics.. I dont think he's going to be back on ice until March which is way after Feb.. but that's just my thought process.. I don't expect to see him until then, this way I'll be happy when he comes back.. he heart of the team has been ripped out and its going to be interesting to see how they respond, and who gets the call up..
