I am afraid to say that this morning, while headed to the library, I found Alphonse (the one with Herr Pokeylope, that is) lying unconscious on a side street. I took him to the hospital where he is being cared for, but he has not woken up yet. I do not know what happened to him, but it looked as though he must have been in some sort of fight. We ( Read more... )

Oh my goodness! That's so terrible! I hope he's going to be okay.... *frowns in concern*

Ah... what is Oktoberfest? If it involves cooking, I'll be more than happy to help out, of course.

I think he will be alright eventually, but I am growing increasingly more concerned that he apparently is not awake yet...

At my home it is a huge citywide party to celebrate the start of autumn wth food and drink and music and everything imaginable. Obviously we cannot do something on that sort of scale here, but it is still an opportunity to put on a small festival for whoever wants to come. I am glad to hear you are interested in helping out... I am sure if you wanted to copy down some recipes from Germany, Edward would let you borrow his cookbook, but really you are welcome to make whatever you like.

Oh dear. *fiddles with her skirt, frowning* I will pray for him then.

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! I would love to be involved then, especially since I missed out on that flower festival. *eyes light up* Ooooh, I would love to try out some recipes from your world! I made a dinner once with recipes from some place called France and it was just simply amazing! You say Edward has a cookbook? And he would lend it to me?

Danke, Clara.

It is fun, ja. ::smiles at her enthusiasm, then laughs:: France, you say? Well. German food is much better, naturally. ::chuckles:: Different, at least. Ja, he does, and I doubt he would mind at all if you borrowed it for a while to look through and copy things from. He will need it back before the festival, of course, as he wants to bring some things too. But next time you see him, you should ask to borrow it. Or I could ask him for you, I suppose. You may not run into him often.

*smiles* Are you two very close, then?

*blinks* You've heard of it? Is it from your world then? Goodness, if German food is even better, then I can't wait to try it! *grins* Sure, thanks, if you see him, do ask him for me? Of course, if I don't run into him, I do know where he lives, I suppose I could always just drop by.

Ahm... Sometimes. ::laughs:: When I stay on his good side, we are friends. When he decides to hate me... Things do not go so well.

Ja, they are a neighboring country. One which many of us are not particularly fond of. ::soft chuckle:: So you have to understand that I am reasonably biased, especially when it comes to things like food. I think German food is better, but I have grown up with it. ::smiles:: I will ask, ja. I need to borrow it myself, anyway.

...I think I know exactly what you mean.

*laughs a little* Oh, I see. Is there a particular reason for the, um, lack of fondness? Or is this just... neighboring nation rivalry? I'm sure I will enjoy German food just as much.

Pardon me for saying it, but I hope you do not, actually. His tendency toward violence is not something I want to experience ever again.

Ahm... Ja, rivalry, but hardly friendly rivalry. ::sighs:: Their allies defeated us in the Great War a couple years back, and the short of it is that their side claimed it was all our fault in the first place, so they placed a huge number of rather humiliating restrictions on us, so the country is spiralling into depression, and yet they want us to pay loads of money. ::shakes his head:: I am sure the French as individuals are mostly nice people in other circumstances, but right now, they and their government are showing a rather sadistic streak.

Well, he did threaten to kill me once. I didn't test him to see if he actually would. I take this to mean you've actually been attacked by him, then?

Oh dear. How horrible. The winning side gets to make the rules, I guess, never mind if it's right or wrong. *sighs*
