Went to my BookCrossing Meetup last night and enjoyed myself. Got to hang out with legomydani and another friend, and saw ninaverbeena and devon612 for a moment. There was this guy there who was so articulate, mild-mannered and soft spoken that even though I totally disagreed with his personal convictions I couldn't bear to verbally disagree with him. He just got a "hmm, that's interesting" out of me. Then I felt guilty for carrying on a conversation with someone else. Odd. He logged in a book he got from me at the Meetup and used my real name even though my bookshelf there is also under Crankydragon, so that kinda irked me. Then he went on to gush about how I told him how much I enjoyed the book (I never read it) and how everything happens for a reason (again, his convictions that I disagree with). Made me live up to my name when I saw that this morning. Eh, maybe he won't come to the next Meetup and even if he does, no one says I have to sit near him and carry on a conversation.

Feeling rather sick to my stomach right now. One of the ladies in our office has been in the hospital and is back now, so everyone fixed her favorite foods and bought her favorite cake to welcome her back. The food was very good but either I ate too much or something isn't agreeing with me, because right now I have that feeling of wanting to sit here and not move. There is a piece of angel food cake with strawberries sitting right in front of me and I can't make myself eat it.

Georgia is considering adopting a new flag. Their former flag had the Confederate flag on it, so it was changed. Now it seems they're discussing changing it again, and the new third design has the state seal in the corner, three stripes of unknown color, and the phrase "in god we trust" on the white middle stripe. Separation of church and state, ring a bell? I'm curious, though, who does the regulating of things like that. I mean, it's already on our national currency which is a blatant disregard of the so-called separation. I'm writing this at work where I have no web access, so I'll have to check with the ACLU when I get home. In our recent state of uber-patriotism and after the flak over Dr Pepper's "One Nation ... Indivisible" cans, somehow I don't see anyone questioning the new flag design.

***Note: I added the links after I got home, just in case anyone is super concerned over it.***
