Where did everyone go?

It's hard to have a peaceful night when you contemplate the possible consequences of the decisions you've made in the past.

No rest for the wicked, they say.
A man is only as good as the sum of his deeds, they say.
Hindsight is always 20/20, they say.

I don't think there's anything that I can say or do that would bring you comfort, even if whatever consequences of your actions aren't so much a bad thing. It's unsettling to think that we're somehow locked into past mistakes, when clearly we were younger and dumber. Without those mistakes we wouldn't have learned the things we did to become the people we are, and the people we are, supposedly, are better than the sum of our past transgressions.

It's hard to have a peaceful night in a society has drilled a syndrome into its people to punish honest mistakes with a heavy hand.

My brother loves that song.

I think you're right to some extent, but eh, ignorance is bliss, and if I could go back before I learned what I learned from those mistakes, I'd consider it.

The problem with going back to the way you were before you made those mistakes is the fact that you would be apt to make the same mistakes again, which makes going back for them an exercise in futility.

That's a very good point.
