there are many times w/in the past year and a half that i have very much regretted applying to RIT. i hate rochester. i hate the quarter system. i hate how RIT only has the art program because they want to make their reputation as a school to be colorful and diverse. i hate how winter is so depressing. i hate the peoples clueless attitude in rochester. and i hate living so far away from the ocean.
but then there are times when i feel very happy that i went to RIT instead of any other school. for instance, ive excelled so much in printmaking. my love for painting has lessened, and now feel like i want to spend 90% of my artistic time printing, and 10% doing other art related works.
i just feel really priveleged to be in this printmaking program, because this is only my 16th week in the printmaking studio, and since then i have: been accepted in the master printmaking program led by keith howard. i have been invited to 2 printmaking conferrences. one in early april in madison Wisconsin. the second in boston MASS in early may.
also, the work that ive contributed to will be exhibited in NJ and NY over the summer and september. in places like KEAN U, and william patterson.
keith howard's technique in printmaking will really boost my resume(add a ' over the e, so it doesnt look like resume, but rather, re.soo.may). n since i should be graduating next yr (in the end of feb, or in may, depending on whether im lazy or not) i should hopefully get my dream job in either NJ NY or sarasota FL. maybe even spain.... who knows. i'll take the job from whoever pays most :)
thank you for reading this crap, and later
