The USS Dailies has been sunk

Jan 21, 2006 23:24

Well, after spending four hours sinking dailies, I can officially say it isn't very fun. The school had to FEDEX the dailies to my house and of course the guy comes at 8:30 in the morning on the only morning I was sure I could sleep in. I must have looked like a crazy film kid walking down the stairs like I did.

The entire first day of shooting turned out in super fast motion, shooting at 12fps as opposed to 24. It's funny to watch, but sad to realize that we have to shoot them all over again. I also made a cameo, unbeknownst to me. I'm playing script supervisor #1, pretending to diligently take notes.

To make the matter worse/funnier, because our school will only pay for USED beta transfer tapes, the first 11 minutes have what I can only make out to be mexican/american infomercial daily remnants. I can't layer the audio because it doesn't match the escalated frame rate. I feel like I'm going to get in trouble with the three drunks on daily screening night. I sort of decided that they don't actually come in drunk, that over decades and decades of being obnoxious drunks, they have just regressed into a state of drunkenness all the time.

I watched Imaginary Heroes again tonight. A really good movie made by a really young good looking director, starring Sigourney Weaver and Emille Hirsch. What's not to like?

I'm going to AC tomorrow. We're shooting on the stage, while they hold a huge audition in the lobby. That won't cause any problems, riiiight.
