Walking in a Winter Wonderland...

I bought a Christmas tree. It's fantastic. It's five inches tall. Fa-la-la-la-la.

I don't feel very christmas-y. I don't even have a ride home yet.

I've been working as a Second Assistant Director to a show this Sunday/Monday trying to find 20-30 extras. It's impossible, because everyone has finals this week. I'm actually sort of enjoying the responsibility inherent, but at the same time, it's not my job to find extras, it's the producer's, and I'm doing the bulk of the work. Luckily the people working on the set are fun, and my first AD is a lovely girl who is trying to make sure everyone has a good time, as opposed to the heinous bitch who ran my last "grim" set. I expect there will be much of me singing to her over the radio just out of sheer un-hate.

Had my last class with the wonderful Stuart Robertson yesterday, which made me a bit sad. As an excellent end note, I ran some dvd's up to his office that in his grandpa-like forgetfulness he left out, and got to tell him how much I enjoyed him, and his class, but with little verbal aplomb.

As a gift to us, he brought in his Academy Award for us to hold, because it is good luck according to him. I think I'd like one. I got a picture with it too. In the email with the picture Stuart wrote "those drugs are bad for your eyes by the way," in reference to my mad red eye. I laughed for a while at that one. I'll miss not seeing him on a regular basis, I did so enjoy seeing and hearing his almost always positive reaction to my films. The world could use more Stuart Robertsons'.

The world could also use more Vickys'. Last day with her is today. It really blows losing all my great teachers. Next semester will not be nearly as fun. It should be good, but the love is going to be at a serious deficit. We won't even have our awesome lighting teacher. Seeing these people around isn't the same, but it will have to do.

I feel like my F1 was well received by my class of scrutinizers, even though it was viewed last out of 16. As I commented to Stuart "No on one likes the last one." I was wrong, just this once.

Fa-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la.
