I was going to stick around and see how things played out.
But this is getting more and more like the Titanic, and I've no intention of going down with this ship.
I didn't comment on Strikethrough, or any of the other bullshit that LJ/6A has been pulling, because I was hoping (in vain, but hoping) that they would get their act together and at least attempt to fix things.
I mean it was bad enough that the
latest lj_biz post didn't provide the clarifications that LJ/6A was claiming that it would. Really though, after the last several clear as mud "clarification" posts, I wasn't really expecting that much. No. No, the real kicker for me was when someone pointed out that
pro-anorexia communities encourage self harm which is clearly against LJ ToS, but they're allowed to remain on LJ, whereas fictional gay porn where both of the characters are overage (even though Harry Potter was in one of them) is ToSed off of LJ for lacking artistic merit, or being kiddy porn, or something.
That would have been enough for me to pick up and leave. But then? Oh, friends and neighbors, it gets much worse. Because then some asshat official Customer Service rep of LJ's named
coffeechica has to put in her two cents where she claims that
pro-anorexia groups are really support groups that help people with this problem.
-_-
She then backpedals a lot when everyone and their brother JimBobFred tells her what a moron she is. But no. I'll probably dual-post for awhile, if only because I know people keep up with my journal. And the fandom stuff will definitely get dual posted, since... yeah. I know some people keep up with my writing. I'll probably move to InsaneJournal though, and the link for my IJ can be found
here.
No, in the end, I'm not leaving because of the whole "OMG porn!" thing, or the fandom thing, or even the shitty customer service thing. In the end, I'm leaving because drawing gay porn that "lacks artistic merit" or whatever, is apparently a greater sin in LJ/6A's eyes than people encouraging teenage girls under 18 to starve themselves.
And when fictional teenagers start being more important than real teenagers who can actually die from the kind of shit that pro-anorexic communities support? Well, people, that is just not something I can get behind.
