I'm not dead, I swear. I've just been doing work and school and school and work. And I had company for awhile, which kind of impaired my chances to post. That, and not that much has been happening, which is another reason why I haven't really bothering posted very much.
Otakon cosplay is more or less complete. I got my hair cut today. Like short. Like shorter than it's been probably since I was 4 and my mom cut all my hair to make it easier for my ex-father to take care of in the summer. -_- So yeah, it's short. Cute, but short. And I have bangs, which are driving me crazy. I haven't had bangs since probably my freshman year of high school, and that was 10 years ago. (God, I feel so damn old).
So now all I have to do is dress up, and peep at someone into teasing my hair into how it needs to be. And then spray the whole mess with hair dye. Which, after looking at the hair dye instructions, I'm probably going to want to do my hair before dressing up. Joy of joys.
I've also determined that if there is some sort of deity/spirit/whatever in charge of cars having problems, it always decides to target me when I'm on the verge of going somewhere. It decided to kill my battery and brakes at the same time in September when I was going to go fetch one of my friends for the Babyshower of Doom. And it struck again last night.
Last night, when I was about to go to school, I noticed that oh snap, my tire is flat. Which meant I had to get a ride down to school. (And I have a story about school in just a minute). Anyway, I get to school, sit through class, and then my dad comes and picks me up afterwards. He tells me I at least need to replace the front tires. And that I won't make it to winter with my back tires. Wonderful, says I. I'l deal with the tires two at a time and have done.
Well, I get to the tire place, and the man nicely informs me that I won't make it another 1000 miles without my back tires blowing as well. I was not thrilled to learn that bit of information, let me tell you. Anyways, so I ended up getting all of my tires replaced and lucky me, the tab was something insane like $438+. And Otakon is in just over a week? Yeah. Right. Dad at least said I could pay him back after the con, which will make my life a bit easier.
As for school, I've been taking a class on Hostage Negotiation and Crisis Intervention this summer. Not a bad class at all. My last class is on Monday, when we can all take the final. Anyways, we had to do roleplays last night, in which we worked in teams and we had to pick who was the negotiator, among other things. Our job was to negotiate with a bank robber who was being played by the chief of campus security. It was more than a little stressful, since it was an ongoing roleplay, and since my group went last, we got to inherit all of the mistakes and successes of the previous group. One of the groups promised to let the mayor talk to the bank robber. -_- Oh so fun. Anyways, at the end of the roleplay, our bank robber there shot himself. But, according to our professor, all of the hostages survived, so it still counts as a win!
I guess more has been going on than I thought...
