Fic: A Rough Portrait in Black and White

For infinitejoys, who gave me the rather wonderful prompt of Turlough/Charlotte Lucas.

And I begin to realise that I fail at the 'no background whatsover, just a conversation for fun' bit of this meme, but I am having fun.   And, amazingly, this is the first Doctor Who story.

Turlough meets Charlotte Collins (nee Lucas) )

fannish scribbles, jane austen, doctor who, turlough, crossover, meme, pride and prejudice

He didn’t think that was too much to ask, but apparently it was, since Tegan, on learning the date had verged on enthusiastic (for her) and the Doctor had been babbling on about something he wanted to see, or do, or maybe it had just been the weather. He’d stopped listening by then.

LOL at 'maybe it had just been the weather'!

And Turlough, being charming? How unusual! :D

Heh. Thanks. Knowing the Doctor it probably was something about it being splendid weather for cricket...

Hey, Turlough likes to try and charm any girl he meets. Sometimes it even works.

No doubt!

I've only seen him 'Mawdryn Undead' and 'The Five Doctors' - I didn't think he was terribly charming in either of those.

 No, he's not in those two! But he likes to try and sweet-talk his way out of trouble.

He tries chatting up Tegan in Terminus ("You're sweet when you're angry."), Norna in Frontios and lays on the flattery pretty thick for Captain Wrack (who says he has a devious mind). Mind you, even in Mawdryn, Nyssa thinks he's 'rather nice' (or does she say it in Terminus, I forget?)...

And Planet of Fire turns out to be something of a revelation... :-D

I'm still terribly behind on Five's era. :(

Well, lucky you. ;-) You have some things to look forward to, still! I think the only one I've not seen now is The King's Demons.

I do still have some shocking Three and Four gaps, though, but this is mainly due to the order in which they brought out the videos & the DVDs!

I've not watched everything of Three's or Four's eras by any means, but I've seen more of Three, even, than Five...
