Oh, and I finished my B7 rewatch last night, and am being hit with a mass of feelings and nostalgia... I miss the messy offline B7 fandom that I knew in the late 1980s/early 1990s, which was so messy that it fell apart in civil war. All those fanzines! Best to leave that behind me, sigh.
However... there was an amazing post-Gauda Prime fanfic saga, Log of the Hellhound, that was insanely controversial in fandom because it was dark and intense and unpleasant and included sexual fracked-upness, but I started reading it and was amazed. I found a web page listing which fanzines the chapters could be found in, and it looks as if the whole last segment (Book Ten) was never done (or not published). Now I'm sad about that. :-/ *whimper*
(ETA: I excavated a box of old B7 zines and found that I had Books One through Eight of Hellhound, so, if Book Nine was the last published... well, I went hunting on eBay and found the zine with Book Nine in it. Should have that soon, I hope. But why couldn't it have ever been finished in all these years, or published online? *sob*)
Ah, well. You at all up to discussing Avon? ETA: I just keep thinking that, yeah, he was a miserable, snarky git, and never wanted to be a leader, really just wanted to take a ship and go live as he pleased -- rich and free, if possible. He was okay while following Blake, I think. Having the responsibility of leadership just... unbalanced him. He didn't want the responsibility, but Tarrant was too young and brash to be good at it, and none of the others wanted it. And he just went more unhinged the more everything went wrong, and it still makes me sad to watch. Again, yes, he was always ambivalemt, and never "good" as such, but a great character. I was hoping I'd be safe this time through, because I had a huge thing for Avon back in the 1980s, but lost much of it due to Darrow's behavior. But no. I was almost managing neutrality, but then came S4, and the end, and I was all "Avon, nooooo" again, and now I want to watch all the Avon-related vids. It's probably a good thing that vids keep hanging up and not playing through on my tablet... frustrating, but probably better for me. Hah.
Hmm, that sounds annoying. I suppose you could ask on blakes7 or something in case anyone knows anything about it?? (A lot of B7 fandom seems to have been loyally around since zines and the first showing and things. You never know.)
I don't mind you talking Avon to me! I'm not sure I've many intelligent thoughts, but ramble away, please do! And, I mean, you're not the only one who likes Avon! Not by a quite considerable mile... ;-)
