Fanvid: Company of Shadows/Melancholy Interlude

Nov 05, 2012 17:20

I made two things for fan_flashworks last challenge (Ghosts & Gore). Now it's over and I can post here, this is the first (well, actually, it was the second, but never mind):

Title: Company of Shadows
Fandom: The Shadow of the Tower
Song: Father's Day - Murray Gold (DW soundtrack)
Rating: PG (for the morbid theme)
Length: 1.55 mins
Content notes: Death masks (in case anyone else also finds them creepy) and general morbidity.
Vidder notes: From the 1972 BBC drama The Shadow of the Tower. Spoilers only for actual history.
Summary: Henry and Elizabeth, turning into mere memories and ghosts - and death masks.

I had the idea for this and tried out five different short pieces of music for it and rather liked the result of one of the other ones and the way it immediately made it a different vid (that picked up another underlying theme of the last episode) so went back to it after and tweaked it a bit. So here's an additional/alternative version, less creepy (I hope) but sadder (and shorter). But I don't really expect anyone to watch either, let alone both. I was mainly playing about with some things I haven't tried in my vidding software (which is part of the spirit of this particular comm, anyway).

Henry/Elizabeth to Melancholy Interlude by Hayley Westenra.

(Sometimes I am terribly morbid, sorry. It just seemed to fit the challenge.)
