As it turned out, the two little girls have started watching DW, so arrived and demanded to see the last episode. Naturally, I volunteered for this testing duty...
Barely worth putting behind a cut, but: Aw, they really meant the stuff about it being a fairy tale. And it finally clicked, the so-obvious thing that I've got back in this one, and not had previously in New Who - and it is so obvious, I've even said it, just not quite realised: it's the Doctor and companion as grandfather and (substitute) granddaughter (or something like it), and it's been a long while, and I like having it back, even if just for a bit (because all companion/Doctor relationships are different).
Oh, and the thing about the TARDIS and then wedding saying. That bit was perfect. I'd have to watch it a lot more times to say about everything else, but that bit was perfect, and set up, and only obvious at the actual moment. Favourite bit. Even over getting to see wee!Amelia again.
And, what next for this TARDIS team, I wonder? Because that's not something that can be repeated, so I'm intrigued as to where we go next. Which is nice, too.
And then we had to play with make-up (my flatmate and I own very little, so this is amusing) and hair (I have about four hairbands in at the moment).
So, how long till Christmas?
