Fingers brushed down against her palm before his fingers interlocked with hers; there was a soft blush that slowly drew out across her cheeks and she gazed up into his eyes. Their eyes met and he looked down lovingly at her, his eyes mirroring the emotions that were behind her own. A soft, yet shy, smile fell on her lips and she lowered her head, turning away from his gaze. But that lasted just a moment. His free hand brushed against her cheek and guided her face back towards his.
His eyes searched hers, a soft touch across her lips with his thumb before he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her lips. Tilting her head towards his lips she kissed him back, lips parting as the kiss deepened. Her hand cupped his cheek as his grazed her skin and up through her hair. They were falling in love, anyone could see that from the way they looked into one another’s eyes and touched one another.
Slowly she pulled back, laughing shyly as she glanced around at the people in the park, he whispered something to her which caused her to laugh and hide her face in his shoulder, and he just pulled her closer, held her against him.
Macaria slowly looked away from the couple and back down at the sketch pad that leaned up against her knees, jealousy twisting in her stomach. Why, in your loneliest of times, did everyone seem so happy? Why did it hurt so much to see people happy?
She already knew the answers to that, and lifting her gaze once more as the couple walked away Macaria let out a soft sigh. It hurt because she wanted it so badly herself, to be wanted, needed and loved.
