So, i went to the DCI classic countdown, and it was awesome. Majro props to the 27th lancers and the velvet knights are the funniest drum corps ever! It was interesting that in the 70s ALL color gaurd members wore skirts. Yes, including the guys. I realized this in a mid-1970s Blue Devils show. I turned to Joey and was like "those are the manliest color guar i ever seen. But they still looked good. Then in a close up i was like 'holy shit their guys... all of them" Like 10 beautiful guys lnedd up tossing rifels...it was great. Followed by "of course they are guys, girls cant spin or toss that well..." I thought that was quite an astute observation on my part... I know why they did it, for uniformity purposes, but still. You see back then, girls did not were pants (interestingly enough, if there were any grils in the horn or drum lines, they wore pants) so they wore skirts, so for uniformity, any guys in the (mostly girl) color guard would have to wear skirts as well. So that your lil bit of drum corps history for the day. *frolic* now im all inspired to make drum corps icons... :[]
ps: might i add that now the blue devils are mnow the most homophobic adrum corps ever and i really hate them... ironic really. Also, REALLY HOT PEOPLE do drum corps, and it seems they always have.
