So we have been talking for the past two days about race in anthropology. Heres the scoop: race is cultural, not biological. Race is actually not even reconized, ie: nonexistant in the scientific community. I think we should all just get rid of race. It is no longer relevant. If someone actually fits into a racial steriotype, then they either should 1)accept it or 2) change it/themselves. So cencious people and standerized tests can shove it and take race off as another annoying bubble to fill in. I mean, i know im a "white" male, so i guess i am on the top of the ladder of privlage, but still. I identify with others and just wanted to put this out to the world. I believe in the words of Mia Angelou: "We are more alike than we are unalike." And, she is right. In other news:
I had lunch with the fabolous Miles to day. I use the term "lunch" lightly, seeing how i just had a cookie and a coke while he ate a salad. It was gerat, though awkward, esp. when he asked if i was interested in anyone. I responded that i was, but it was doomed. I wanted to tell his so bad... Oh well, another day i guess.
