Summary: It's been three years since Jin left to the States and after being forced, he is back in Japan. While walking around, he meets someone he's been trying to avoid.

Ch. 20

It was the day Kame dreaded. That night Jin would be meeting up with Aki and then…..well, Kame wasn’t sure what would happen next. He sighed as he walked into the kitchen of his restaurant. There were a few people there already, among them was Reio, prepping for the lunch service. He merely greeted Koki and Nakamaru in the office and then decided to return to the kitchen to help. He walked to Reio, who was making pasta, and weakly smiled.

“Reio…”
“Kame-san,” Reio turned to Kame.
“C-can we talk?” Kame gulped.
“Sure,” Reio replied, slightly confused, “About what?”
“…I assumed Jin told you about tomorrow,” Kame answered.
“Oh that!” Reio said, “Yeah, he told me.”
Kame nodded, “I…”
“You don’t need to be scared, Kame-san,” Reio said, “Jin cares a lot about you. He won’t hurt you.”
“I know that,” Kame told him, “It’s just that I’m worried about Aki-san.”

Reio grabbed the dough next to him and started flattening it. He sighed and looked at Kame.

“I don’t know much about Aki-san, but I think she’s trying to mess with your head, Kame-san.”
“You think so?” Kame looked hopeful.
Reio nodded, “Yeah. So don’t worry, you can trust Onii-san.”
“Thanks Reio,” Kame gave him a small smile.
“No problem boss,” Reio smiled back.

“Jin-sensei!” Emi happily exclaimed when she saw him waiting outside the school gates.
“Hey kiddo,” Jin smiled, “How was school?”
“It was great!” Emi smiled back.
“No bullies?”
“None!”
“It’s great. Come on, I’ll take you for some ice cream,” Jin said, “I want to talk to you.”
“Is it bad or good?” Emi asked.
“It’s good, don’t worry,” Jin chuckled as they walked towards the ice cream shop.

After ordering ice cream for Emi, Jin found a spot in the shop where he and Emi could sit.

“I got a big plan for your papa tonight.”
“Is it going to make him happy?”
“Yes.”
“Really, really, really happy?”
“Yes, Emi.”
“You promise?”
“Of course!”
“What is it?” Emi asked, licking her ice cream.
“Do you promise not to tell Papa?” Jin gave Emi a questioning look.
Emi quickly nodded, “I promise! Please tell me!”
“You’re not telling to tell that you met me too, ok?” Jin told her.
Emi frowned, “Why not?”
“It’s going to ruin the surprise for him,” Jin replied, “Now, do you promise?”
Emi nodded, “Tell me!”

Jin smiled and told Emi his surprise for Kame. Once he finished, Emi was grinning from ear to ear, nodding in agreement.

“I’ll do that!” Emi exclaimed.
Jin smiled, “Now, do you know if Rina is at the restaurant yet?”
Emi shrugged, “Maybe. I’m not sure. Why?”
“I need her to do something else for me,” Jin answered.
“Let’s go to her apartment,” Emi suggested.
“You don’t have any work for school?” Jin frowned.
“Let’s go! Let’s go!” Emi grinned, ignoring Jin’s question.
“Emi-chan?” Jin looked at her, suspicious.
“Come on, Jin-sensei~!” Emi jumped up, still grinning at Jin.

Jin rolled his eyes and stood up, giving in to Emi. Then, following Emi’s lead, they walked out of the ice cream shop.

When Rina entered the restaurant, she immediately went to the kitchen. Once she saw Kame, she quickly walked to him. Kame frowned at her, waiting for her to say something.

“I’m sorry Kazu,” Rina said, “I didn’t mean to yell at you. I’m sure you had your reasons.”
“Are you saying that because you’re scared to lose your job or because you really mean it?” Kame asked.
“A little of both?” Rina weakly smiled.
Kame chuckled.
“I’m saying it as a friend who is very sorry,” Rina said.
“I’m sorry too.”

Kame smiled, at least Rina started to support his decision. He sighed and continued his work. Then, Rina turned to him again.

“I saw Emi-chan on the way here,” Rina said.
“Oh yeah?” Kame mumbled.
“Why don’t I come over tonight? We haven’t done a movie night in a while,” Rina asked, “This restaurant isn’t doing a dinner service anyways.”
“Yeah….I’d like that,” Kame smiled, “Thanks Rina.”
“Good, I wasn’t going to take a no for an answer,” Rina told him.

After the lunch service, the restaurant closed for the rest of the day. Together with Rina, Kame went back to his apartment, where they saw Emi relaxing on the couch, watching TV.

“Rina-chan!” Emi exclaimed when she saw Rina coming in.
Rina smiled, “Hey.”
“What are you doing here?” Emi asked.
“Your papa and I decided to have a movie night,” Rina replied, “doesn’t that sound like fun?”
“Yeah….but what about Jin-sensei?” Emi frowned.
“He’s busy,” Rina told her.
“Don’t you remember what he said today?” Emi asked.
“Emi!” Rina hissed, glancing at Kame.
“You saw Jin today?” Kame frowned, “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Oh…that was nothing,” Rina quickly replied, “Really.”

Kame frowned and looked at the two girls. He shrugged and left the topic of Jin alone.

The afternoon soon turned into night and Kame began to feel more worried about Jin meeting Aki. Rina and Emi didn’t help when they didn’t allow Kame to eat dinner, too. However, Kame kept a smiling and played along with Rina and Emi ways.

“Can we start the movie?” Emi asked Kame.
“Sure,” Kame smiled, sitting on the couch.
“Errr….” Rina glanced at her watch.
“Is something wrong?” Kame frowned at her.
Rina shook her head, “No, it’s nothing.”

Emi grabbed the movie out of its case and placed it in the dvd player. She ran back and sat next to Kame as Rina sat down. Kame glanced at Rina. He opened his mouth to ask if she was ok, but all the sudden the doorbell rang.

Kame frowned and stood up. He saw Rina and Emi smiling as he walked to the front door. He opened the door and saw Jin standing in front of him.

“Jin….”
“Hey,” Jin smiled.
“W-why are you here?” Kame frowned.
“I will tell you after you put on your jacket,” Jin answered.
“What?” Kame looked completely confused.
“Go and put on your jacket,” Jin smiled.

Still a bit taken aback at Jin being there, Kame slowly went to his bedroom and grabbed his jacket. He put it on and walked back to Jin. Before anything else was said, he glanced at Emi and Rina, who were both smiling at him.

“Did you two know he was coming over?” Kame frowned at them.
Jin cleared his throat and smiled again, “Are you ready?”
“Yeah….I guess?” Kame replied, very much confused.
“Then let’s go,” Jin said, taking Kame’s hand.
“Wait! What?” Kame quickly reacting to Jin’s words, “Where?!”
“On a date.”
“………What?!”

A/N- last chapter left!! >.< I’m about 35%~40% done with it, so hopefully I’ll be able to finish it some time this weekend (possibly?) Although I don’t want it to be over, it has to end eventually. :\
