Ch.7

Kazuya went straight to the back room when he saw the customer enter the convenience store. He slightly shook Tatsuya, who was sleeping on the couch.

“Hmm?” Tatsuya blinked.
“Tat-chan, he’s back,” Kazuya muttered.
Tatsuya frowned, “Who’s back?”
“That guy,” Kazuya whispered.
Tatsuya shook his head while standing up, “What guy?”

Kazuya sighed, pushing Tatsuya out of the back room and into the store. Then, he nudged over at the customer. Tatsuya rolled his eyes.

“What is it? The tenth time?” Tatsuya asked Kazuya.
“More like the fifteenth,” Kazuya muttered.
“Fifteenth? Really?” Tatsuya frowned at the customer.
Kazuya nodded, “Tanaka-san said he came by after we left….”

Tatsuya shook his head and walked to the cash register. Kazuya followed behind him and began to clean the counter. The customer took a few things and went to the cash register. Tatsuya silently began to scan everything. The guy cleared his throat. Tatsuya glanced at him.

“…Did you find everything you needed?” Tatsuya muttered.
“Yes,” the guy replied.
“You can swipe your card now,” Tatsuya said as Kazuya dropped his cleaning products and bagged the guy’s things.
The guy nodded and did what he was told, “Make it under Nis-“
“Nishikido, I know,” Tatsuya muttered.
“You remember my name?” Ryo slightly blushed.
Tatsuya rolled his eyes and handed Ryo his bags, “You came in fifteen times yesterday.”
“….Right,” Ryo muttered, taking the bags, “What are you doing Friday night?”
“Why?” Tatsuya asked, frowning a little.
Ryo shrugged, “How about date?”
“……” Tatsuya stared at him in shock.
“8 at-“
Tatsuya shook his head, “What? No!”
“Oh….” Ryo muttered, leaving the store.
“I think you made him sad,” Kazuya said.
“What?” Tatsuya frowned, “I’m sure he’ll move on.”

Kazuya smiled as Jin parked the car. He ran out of the car and went to the sand. Jin got out, locked the car, and followed Kazuya.

“Wait up!” Jin said.
Kazuya turned and tilted his head.
“Don’t you want to change into your swimming trunks?” Jin asked.
Kazuya shook his head.
“Eh?” Jin tilted his head, “Why not?”

Kazuya pulled out a piece of paper and pen from his pocket and wrote something. Then, he handed it to Jin. Jin frowned as he read it.

“You don’t have any?” Jin mumbled.
Kazuya shook his head.
“I can get you a pair if you want,” Jin said.

Kazuya’s eyes widened. He faintly blushed as he shook his head violently. Jin shrugged.

“Then, I guess we could just lie on the sand,” Jin muttered, “Let’s grab some towels from the car and find a place.”

Kazuya nodded and followed Jin to the car. Jin pulled out some towels and they went back. It took them awhile to find a place since there were a lot of people there, but they found a nice place between two trees. Jin spread the towels and they sat down.

Jin glanced at Kazuya, who was staring at the sea with great interest, “This is nice.”

Kazuya broke his stare at the sea and looked at Jin, and then he nodded. Kazuya turned and stared back at the sea. Jin blinked and tilted his head. He looked at Kazuya, confused. He didn’t really understand him. He watched Kazuya pick up a stick that was nearby and start drawing circles with it.

“I used to live around here,” Jin said.
Kazuya glanced at Jin then wrote on the sand, “So did I.”
“Oh yeah?” Jin asked, “I bet you went here all the time.”
“I never been to the beach before,” Kazuya wrote.
Jin’s eyes widened, “Really? Why not?”
“My parents used to move the family a lot,” Kazuya wrote, sadly smiling, “There was never time.”
“That’s sad,” Jin replied.
Kazuya shrugged.
Jin started to look around and then saw a snack bar, “How about ice cream?”

Kazuya glanced at the direction Jin was looking, then looked at Jin and nodded. Jin smiled and stood up.

“I’ll be right back,” Jin said, walking to the snack bar.

A few minutes later, Jin returned with to cones of vanilla ice cream. He sat down and handed Kazuya one. Kazuya took it, but at the same time, he pulled some money out of his pocket. Jin shook his head.

“Don’t worry, it’s on me,” Jin said.

Kazuya bit his lips and placed the money back. They ate their ice cream. After awhile, a soccer ball was kicked in their way. Jin stood up and kicked it back to the boys who were playing with it.

“Nice kick, mister!” one of the boys yelled.
Jin smiled and nodded.
“Want to play?” another boy asked.
“Err….” Jin glanced at Kazuya.
Kazuya picked up the stick and wrote, “Go ahead, I don’t mind.”
“You sure?” Jin asked.
Kazuya nodded.

As Jin went off to play, Kazuya started building a sand castle. An hour passed and Kazuya created a tall pyramid-shaped castle. Jin returned and saw it.

“Wow,” Jin said.
Kazuya looked at Jin.
“That’s pretty cool,” Jin muttered.

Kazuya stood up and cleaned the sand off his hands. One of Jin’s eyebrows rose.

“Want to leave?” Jin asked.
Kazuya shook his head and mouthed, “Bathroom.”
“Ah!” Jin replied and pointed at the bathrooms to their right, “Over there.”

Kazuya nodded and ran there. Meanwhile, Jin sat down and looked at the sand castle. A few minutes passed and Kazuya came back. He frowned when he saw Jin building a wall around his sand pyramid. Kazuya sat down and helped Jin. When he saw Kazuya, Jin suddenly stopped. Kazuya tilted his head.

“Sorry,” Jin muttered.
Kazuya frowned and shook his head.
“You want me to help?” Jin asked.
Kazuya nodded.

As Jin built the wall around, Kazuya began to pick up seashells and decorate it. After putting all the nearby seashells, Kazuya started helping Jin with the wall. Time passed and the wall was almost finished. Kazuya and Jin got closer and closer until Jin’s and Kazuya’s hands touched one another. Kazuya went red, grabbed his hands, and looked away. Jin swallowed hard and stepped away.

“Sorry….” Jin muttered.

Kazuya didn’t look back until Jin said that wall was finished. Kazuya glanced at it.

“How about I take a picture on my phone?” Jin suggested, “We can show the guys when we get back.”

Kazuya bit his lips and shrugged. Jin took that as a yes and pulled out his phone. Kazuya looked at the phone camera and shyly smiled. Jin snapped the picture and walked back and showed Kazuya.

“It turned out good,” Jin said.

Kazuya faintly blushed and nodded. Then, Jin placed his phone back in his pocket and looked at Kazuya.

“Are you hungry?” Jin asked, “I could get us some food from the snack bar.”
Kazuya shook his head.
“Shall we go check in to the hotel? We could put our stuff in the room and come back,” Jin suggested.
“Hotel?” Kazuya mouthed.
Jin nodded, “Yeah, Tatsuya said we could stay overnight so I got a room for our.”
Kazuya nodded and stood up.

“It’s under Akanishi,” Jin told the woman behind the desk.
“Ok, I found it,” she replied, grabbing a key and handing it to Jin, “It’s room 249 upstairs.”
Jin nodded, “It’s two beds, right?”
One of the woman’s eyebrows rose and then she chuckled, “Yeah, right, sure.”

Jin shrugged and picked up his bag. Kazuya, who was sitting, got up, picked up his bag, and followed Jin upstairs. It didn’t take them long to find the room. Jin opened the door and they walked in. They both froze when they saw only one bed.
